Republic Day 2023: President Murmu lauds constitution, says India among fastest growing economies of the world

Republic Day 2023: President Draupadi Murmu, Wednesday, addressed the nation on the eve of the 74th Republic Day of India. Every year, on the eve of Republic Day, the President of the country extends greetings to the countrymen, thanking farmers, founding fathers and freedom fighters of the country.

India observes its Republic Day on January 26 to to commemorate the day the Indian Constitution went into effect. The 74th Republic Day celebrations in India will be held on Thursday, and the chief guest will be Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

NEP equips students for the difficulties of the twenty-first century

During her an-hour-long address to the nation, the President paid homage to the country’s brave soldiers. She also shed light on the importance of education and freshly implemented New Education Policy. “NEP equips students for the difficulties of the twenty-first century while also making our civilization’s lessons applicable to modern life President,” she said.

“I commend roles of farmers, workers, scientists and engineers whose combined strength enables our country to live up to the spirit of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan”. I appreciate every citizen who contributes to the nation’s progress,” she said.

President conveys special appreciation to the soldiers

Further, she extended her appreciation to the soldiers posted at border who are ready to sacrifice their lives for the country.

“On the occasion of Republic Day, I convey my special appreciation to our jawans who guard our borders and are ready to make any sacrifice for the country. I also express my appreciation for all the brave soldiers of paramilitary forces and police forces,” said the President.

‘G20 presidency is an opportunity to promote democracy and multilateralism

Emphasising on the need of promoting democracy and multilateralism, she said, “G20 presidency is an opportunity to promote democracy and multilateralism and the right forum for shaping a better world and a better future. Under India’s leadership, I’m sure, G20 will be able to further enhance its efforts to build a more equitable &sustainable world order.”

“Women’s empowerment and gender equality are no longer mere slogans, as we have made great progress towards these ideals in recent years. I have no doubt in my mind that women are the ones who will do the most to shape tomorrow’s India,” President Murmu.

President says we are indebted to Dr BR Ambedkar

India will be indebted to Dr B R Ambedkar, said President Murmu. “When we celebrate Republic Day, we celebrate what we have achieved, together, as a nation: President Draupadi Murmu in an address to the nation on the eve of 74th Republic Day,” she said.
