Rishabh Pant appointed as brand ambassador of Uttarakhand

Rishabh Pant has been appointed Uttarakhand’s ‘State Brand of Ambassador.’ Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on late Wednesday took to his official Twitter handle to announce Pant as the brand ambassador of the state.

“The state government has decided to appoint the son of Devbhoomi and the talented player @RishabhPant17 of the Indian cricket team as “State Brand Ambassador” with the aim of encouraging the youth of Uttarakhand towards sports and public health. Best wishes to you!” Dhami wrote on Twitter.

Pant thanked the chief minister for conferring him with the honour and giving him an opportunity to serve the state. Said “Thank you @pushkardhami ji for giving me this opportunity, It is no doubt a great feeling and also a huge responsibility. My message to all the young folks is that, you can achieve anything you want as long as you believe in yourself and set your mind to it and work hard.”

Special Principal Secretary Abhinav Kumar was also present on the occasion.

Pant has emerged as one of India’s biggest match-winners in a while. Though he shot to fame with his exploits in the T20 format in the Indian Premier League for Delhi Capitals (formerly known as Delhi Daredevils), his Test record has brought him a lot of acclaims.

In 31 Tests, he has scored 2,123 runs at an average of 43.32. His individual best score is 159* in this format. Pant has scored five centuries and ten fifties in the format.
