Sadguru Isha Foundation: The police team consisting of three members visited the Sadguru’s Isha Foundation‘s center in Thondamuthur following a directive from the Madras High Court. The court had sought reports from the Tamil Nadu government about all criminal cases that have been registered against the spiritual organization headed by guru Jaggi Vasudev on a habeas corpus petition filed by S. One of them is Kamaraj, who hails from Coimbatore and claims two daughters are being brainwashed to stay at Isha Yoga Centre.
Allegations of Brainwashing in Sadguru Isha Foundation
Kamaraj alleged that his daughters have been brainwashed and were not allowed even to visit their family when they were staying at the center. Such allegations seriously need attention towards the practice adopted by the foundation and the lives of the residents. Taking such grave charges, Isha Foundation categorically denied them. The organisation said it does not force anybody into monkhood or separate them from their families.
“Isha Foundation was founded by Sadhguru to impart yoga and spirituality to people. We believe that adult individual human beings have the freedom and the wisdom to choose their path,” the foundation said in a statement.
“They have clearly stated that they are staying in Isha Yoga Center on their own volition. Now that the matter is seized by the court, we hope that truth will prevail and there is an end to all unnecessary controversies,” the statement added.
Court’s Role in Investigating Complaints
It was further reported that Kamaraj tried to enter the premises of the religious foundation by posing as a member of an investigation committee checking out a crematorium which the organization was apparently building. This implies a multifaceted story regarding Kamaraj’s motives and the integrity of the operations of the foundation.
From this current scenario, more profound questions arise as to whether the cultic organizations mainly control and influence the lives of people as well as families through deceptive tactics. As a matter of fact, the court is even at the stages of trying to uncover its position as this matter forms part of a complaint lodged anonymously by one party against the Isha Foundation for alleged manipulation and control.
