Sanjay Nishad Viral Video: Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Sanjay Nishad has found himself in a massive controversy after his recent remarks defending sitting Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
What Led To The Backlash Against Nitish Kumar?
The Bihar CM was distributing appointment letters at ‘Samvad’, the chief minister’s secretariat in Patna to 1,283 Ayush doctors (Ayurvedic, Homeopathic and Unani). Kumar shamelessly pulled out the face veil (hijab) of a Muslim female doctor. The face of Nusrat Praveen, the doctor, was exposed to the audience and she was immediately rushed off the stage.
Iqra Hasan, Samajwadi Party’s MP from Kairana, condemned the incident and blasted Nitish for his shameful, disgusting and outrageous behaviour.
Bollywood’s “Dangal girl” Zaira Wasim blasted the casual smile and shameless behaviour of the sitting Bihar CM.
Action Against Sanjay Nishad & Nitish Kumar
A complaint has been filed at Kaiserbagh Police Station in Lucknow against Sanjay Nishad and Nitish Kumar over a viral hijab video. The incident sparked nationwide outrage among many political leaders across party lines.
The complaint was filed by Samajwadi Party leader Sumaiya Rana who requested the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against both. Rana also urged for a strict and immediate action against the duo.
Several legal experts have suggested that provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) such as Section 354-assault or use of criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty can be invoked against Nitish Kumar, depending on investigation findings and the woman’s complaint.
