Shashi Tharoor Says He Acknowledges His “Underdog” Tag Before the Congress Presidential Election. Watch Video

Congress Presidential Election: Congressman, claimed to be aware of the chatter in some circles about “official candidate” and his reputation as an underdog. A candidate for the presidency of the Congress, Tharoor claimed that the Gandhi family is impartial and that he wants to be an agent of change.

“Some claim that one is a legitimate candidate while I am not. The Gandhis are impartial. Mallikarjun Kharge and I are close buddies. Our method of operation is the only distinction. I want to represent change as an ambassador” said he.

It is untrue, according to Tharoor, if someone claims that delegates are compelled to vote for a particular candidate.

Shashi Tharoor and Mallikarjun Kharge would compete for the position of Congressman on October 17.

“Since the public is dissatisfied with PM Modi, my goal is to make the Congress strong till 2024. People want a strong opposition because of the high unemployment rate, inflation, and hate speech, he said.

In a video message posted on Saturday, Tharoor said that he had heard rumours that he had dropped out of contention to be the next Congress president, according to “sources in Delhi.” In a tweet, he stated, “I was shocked to get calls claiming that I had withdrew, according to sources in Delhi! I intend to finish this race. #ThinkTomorrowThinkTharoor.” (sic)

Theoor remarked, “There are rumours going around that I’m withdrawing today, according to sources in Delhi. I’d like to reassure you that I never back out of a challenge. I never have and never will in my entire life. This is a fight to the death, a friendly competition inside the group. And I’m here to stick with it “said Shashi Tharoor. The grand old party is poised to elect a non-Gandhi president after more than 25 years as a result of the Gandhis’ decision not to run for president. Election day is October 17, and the results will be made public on October 19.
