The SIR 2025 voter list will be released on 9th December. If your name is missing, don’t worry, there’s a simple process to check, correct, and add your name before the elections. This guide explains each step to help you easily secure your voting rights.
Name Missing in Voter List? Follow These 5 Steps
1. Check the Voter List Carefully
The first step is to verify whether your name is truly missing. Visit the official SIR 2025 voter portal or your local election office and search for your name using:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Address
Even a small spelling mistake can make your name appear missing, so check thoroughly.
2. Understand the Reason for Missing Name
There could be several reasons why your name is not on the voter list:
- Recent change of residence
- Name misspelling or incomplete details.
- First-time voter who did not register on time
- Administrative delay in updating records
Identifying the reason helps you follow the correct correction procedure.
3. File a Correction or Inclusion Application
If your name is missing, you need to submit Form 6 (Application for Inclusion of Name in Electoral Roll). You can do this:
- Online: Through the official voter portal National Voter Service Portal (NVSP) by filling the required details and uploading proof of identity and address.
- Offline: Visit your local Electoral Registration Office (ERO) and submit the form along with the necessary documents like:
- Aadhaar card or Passport
- Birth certificate (if first-time voter)
- Utility bills or other proof of address
- Aadhaar card or Passport
4. Track Your Application
After applying, you will receive an acknowledgment number. Use this number to track your application online. The officials may verify your documents and may even visit your residence for confirmation.
5. Ensure Final Inclusion
Once the verification process is complete, your name will be added to the voter list. Check the updated voter list before the election date to ensure your name appears correctly. If your name is still not included after following all steps, immediately contact your local ERO or election helpline for urgent assistance.
