Snowfall Update: Intense snowfall in upper reaches continues to create ruckus; Tourist in joy, more details here

Snowfall Update: Continuous snowfall on the mountains is setting new cold records. The weather is still below zero in several locations, causing hard times for locals, but the increased number of tourists has kept the tourism industry on a happier note. The Meteorological Department predicts that the cold will return owing to snowfall on the mountains.

Tourists flock Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir

Auli, a famous tourist destination, is a snowfall lover’s delight. Due to the constant snowfall on the hills, where the cold is returning, there is an inflow of visitors on the snow-covered hills. Various images are emerging from various locations.

Snowfall has resumed in Gulmarg, Jammu & Kashmir. People are enjoying snowfall in the winter season, even though that the Meteorological Department had already warned about it. The visitors are having a great time in the highlands.

Gulmarg was crowded with skiers following the storm. It is projected that the number of tourists in Kashmir would shatter all previous records this year. Everything in Kedarghati is visible white; the mountains touching the sky behind the temple are covered with snow, making it difficult to distinguish between the sky and the mountains. Snow has been sprinkled around the premises, and snow can be seen on the temple’s pinnacle.

Will the snowfall happen today as well?

Heavy snow has fallen on the slopes of Tungnath and Triyuginarayan. Apart from that, the top portions of Chamoli have become white due to snowfall. In Anantnag, everything was white after a new snowfall. In Srinagar, a thick layer of snow was lying on the roads and the roofs of the houses had turned white with snow, the bitter cold imprisoned people in their homes. The valley will remain cloudy till January 22, while once again from January 23 there is a possibility of light snowfall.

Similar kind of weather trend is also anticipated for Himachal Pradesh. The state, too, have been witnessing severe snowfalls and has caused vehicular movements to come to a halt.
