Tara Shahdeo Conversion Case Verdict! Accused Raqibul Gets Life Sentence, Mother Jailed for 10 Years

Tara Shahdeo Conversion Case: In the case of national archer Tara Shahdev, the CBI Court convicted Ranjit Kohli alias Rakibul to life imprisonment. Kaushal Rani, Rakibul’s mother, and Mustaq Ahmed both received prison terms of 15 years and 10 years, respectively. After 8 years, the court has finally sentenced the offenders. On September 30, the Tara Shahdev case’s special CBI court declared all three defendants guilty.

Defence Attorney to Appeal Verdict in Tara Shahdev Deceptive Marriage Case

Defence attorney Mukhtar Ahmed claims that while he respects the court’s ruling in this case, he is not happy with it and would appeal it to the Jharkhand High Court. Let us tell you that Tara Shahdev, a national shooter, had claimed that Ranjit Singh Kohli had wed her deceptively. IPC sections 120B, 376, 323, 298, 506, and 496 were used to convict Ranjit Kohli, Kaushalya Rani, and Mushtaq Ahmed, whereas sections 120B, 298 were used to convict Mushtaq Ahmed.

Tara Shahdev Deceptive Marriage Case

They both got married on July 7, 2014. She learned after being married that Ranjit Singh Kohli had already converted to Islam and taken the name Rakibul Hasan. Following their marriage, Ranjeet alias Rakibul began pressuring Tara Shahdev to convert to Islam. In the case reported to the police, Tara Shahdev claimed that she was assaulted and even bit by a dog many times because she had not complied.

CBI Takes Over Tara Shahdev Deceptive Marriage Case

On the High Court’s instructions, the CBI took over this case in 2015, which rose to national fame. After the inquiry was complete, the CBI filed a charge sheet in 2017 against Ranjeet alias Rakibul, his mother Kaushal Rani, and Mushtaq Ahmed, who was the Jharkhand High Court’s then Registrar (Vigilance). On July 2, 2018, accusations against the defendant were made. Since that time, all three had been charged.
