Horrible TikTok Challenge: A similar challenge left a 16-year-old boy with third-degree burns after the viral Benadryl fad on TikTok claimed the life of a boy from Ohio, United States. According to The New York Post, a group of teenagers in North Carolina attempted to manufacture a makeshift torch out of a spray paint can and a lighter as part of a TikTok challenge that went horrifically wrong.
According to the story, Mason Dark, 16, was severely burned over approximately 80% of his body after the TikTok challenge caused an explosion. His mother, Holli Dark, claimed that she can no longer recognise her son.
What was the challenge?
Mason Dark was experimenting with the fashion with his Wake Forest friends when the spray paint can he was holding exploded with a loud bang, engulfing him in flames. His situation grew worse when he made an attempt to treat the burns in a nearby river. He came out, his skin scorched. The teen is at great danger of infection from the river water and has a third-degree burn in the shape of a T on his back from taking off the fire clothing.
He was sent to the hospital almost after, and his stay in the UNC Burn Centre is anticipated to last at least six months. Mason underwent surgery on April 26 to receive skin grafts to begin the drawn-out healing process.
Horrible TikTok Challenge: What is his condition now?
For skin grafts, he has previously had a number of procedures. Although the process is slow, his mother said they are optimistic that his skin will eventually heal.
