1. Wrestlers remain steadfast, despite an inconclusive meeting with Union Sports Minister
Top Indian wrestlers met with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur late on January 19 and refused to back down from their demand that the government dissolve the Wrestling Federation of India immediately. 2. Army will receive its first Apache attack helicopter in February 2024
The first fuselage for the Indian Army’s contract for six AH-64E Apache attack helicopters has rolled out of the Hyderabad facility of Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL), a joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems Limited and aircraft manufacturer Boeing. According to a defence official, the first Apache is scheduled to be delivered to the Army in February 2024, and training for Army Aviation pilots and technicians began in the United States last December. According to one official, the first fuselage was formally handed over to the Director General of Army Aviation Lt. Gen. A.K. Suri before being dispatched by TBAL to Arizona in the United States for final assembly.
