4. Indian Navy’s IFC-IOR ties up with Seychelles center to counter non-traditional maritime security threats
Indian Navy’s Information Fusion Centre for Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) located in Gurugram signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Regional Coordination Operations Centre (RCOC), Seychelles to develop common maritime understanding to counter non-traditional maritime security threats such as privacy and armed robbery, human and contraband trafficking, Illegal Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) fishing, arms running, poaching , maritime terrorism with special focus on western Indian Ocean.
5. Hate Crimes in rise in US with Jews and Sikhs being the most targeted
A total of 1005 crimes related to religion occurred in the US in 2021 and Jews and Sikhs were the two most targeted religious groups in the hate motivated crimes.
6. Pak Defence Minister travels to Afghnistan to mollify Taliban who have closed key border crossing between two countries
Pak Defence Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif travelled to Kabul and met Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar , the Taliban appointed Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs to resolve closure by Taliban administration of a key border crossing between the two countries.
8. UK again overtakes India and emerges as world’s sixth biggest stock market
As Indian equity markets suffer from jitters caused Adani Group meltdown, the UK has once again surpassed India as the world’s sixth largest equity market for the first time in almost nine months. The combined market capitalization of primary listings in the UK, excluding ETF’s and ADR’s , reached about $3.11 trillion, some $5.1 billion higher than Indian equivalents.
