Turkey Earthquake 2023: India has provided relief assistance to Turkey, which is currently grappling with the aftermath of a devastating earthquake. Turkey's Ambassador to India, Firat Sunel, expressed his gratitude to India for sending relief materials, which included medicines, a mobile hospital, and specialized search and rescue teams. The death toll from the earthquake that struck Turkey and neighboring Syria last week has risen to over 33,000.
India continues to send relief material after Turkey Earthquake
India has dispatched additional relief materials, medical equipment, and life-saving medicines to Turkey and Syria via its seventh 'Operation Dost' military transport aircraft. The Indian government swiftly decided to dispatch search and rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), medical teams, and relief material to Turkey, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's instructions to provide all possible assistance to the affected country.
Firat wrote on twitter, "Another batch of emergency in-kind donations from the people of India is on the way to Turkiye. @TurkishAirlines @TK_INDIA carries the aids on a daily basis to the earthquake hit region, free of charge. #VasudhaivaKutumbakam THANK YOU INDIA! Each tent, each blanket or sleeping bag are of vital importance for the hundreds of thousands of earthquake survivors."

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi earlier tweeted, "7th #OperationDost flight reached Syria with over 23 tons of relief material, including gensets, solar lamps, emergency & critical care medicines, & disaster relief consumables. Received at Damascus airport by Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Environment Moutaz Douaji."
