What did the PM Narendra Modi say on Pulwama attack anniversary?

To pay tribute to the fallen soldiers, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the fourth anniversary of the attack, honored the sacrifices made by the CRPF personnel in the service of the nation. He saluted their courage and bravery and stated that their memories would always inspire every Indian.

He wrote, “Remembering our valorous heroes who we lost on this day in Pulwama. We will never forget their supreme sacrifice. Their courage motivates us to build a strong and developed India.”

In response to the Pulwama terror attack, India launched airstrikes on Jaish-e-Mohammed’s terror training camps in Balakot, Pakistan, on February 26, 2019. The Indian Air Force successfully destroyed the camps and eliminated a large number of terrorists.

Investigation on the Pulwama attack

However, Masood Azhar, the mastermind behind the Pulwama terror attack and the leader of Jaish-e-Mohammed, remains free and under the protection of the Pakistani government. Last year, the Indian government designated Azhar’s brother, Mohiuddin Aurangzeb Alamgir, also known as Ammar Alvi, as an individual terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Alvi, a senior leader of Jaish-e-Mohammed, was involved in the Pulwama terror attack and constantly guided his nephew on the conspiracy over the phone.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has named Alvi and his brothers Masood Azhar and Abdul Rauf Asghar in the chargesheet for their role in the attack. According to the NIA officials, Umar Farooq, Azhar’s nephew, was sent to Jammu and Kashmir to execute the attack, and Alvi was in constant contact with him to ensure its success.

Even after four years, the families of the fallen soldiers continue to suffer, while the perpetrators of the heinous crime roam free. The Indian government has been demanding that Pakistan take action against the terrorists responsible for the Pulwama terror attack, but to no avail.
