Two major explosions took place inside the Air Force station at Jammu airport

Two major explosions took place inside the Air Force station at Jammu airport late on Saturday night in a span of just five minutes. Officials said the blast took place around late night at 1.30 am. The first explosion caused the roof of a building in the airport’s technical area to collapse. The Air Force takes over the maintenance of this location and the second explosion took place on the ground. There was no immediate information about any casualties. However, there seems to be a deepening of suspicion on Pakistan, because if sources are to be believed, two drones were used for this blast and the targets were Indian Air Force aircraft.

In such a situation, now questions arise whether the target of the drone was the aircraft of the Indian Air Force, was there a conspiracy to repeat the Pathankot attack again? Central agencies along with the police have gathered to find answers to all these questions. An ANI team has also reached to investigate the incident from the terrorist angle. If sources are to be believed, a high-level investigation team of the Indian Air Force has also left for Jammu. Sources said that the likely target of the drone was an IAF aircraft parked in the area.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has received information from the Air Force about the two blasts at its air station in Jammu. According to the minister’s office, Singh spoke to the Deputy Chief of the Air Force, Air Marshal HS Arora, regarding the blasts. Defense Minister himself is currently on a tour of Leh-Ladakh

Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force is probing whether the two low-intensity blasts at its base in Jammu were not terrorist attacks. Investigators are also investigating possible use of drones to drop explosives at the airport, officials said. The airport houses various assets of the Air Force.

The Defense Minister’s office tweeted, “Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Air Marshal HS Arora, Deputy Chief of the Air Force, about the incident today at Air Force Station in Jammu. Air Marshal Vikram Singh is reaching Jammu to take stock of the situation.” While Singh reached Leh on Sunday morning. He has gone to Ladakh on a three-day tour.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) tweeted that “two low intensity explosions” were reported in the technical area of Jammu Air Force Station early Sunday. These explosions happened at 2 am. Bomb disposal and forensic teams were at the airport and the entire area was cordoned off. One of the explosions caused minor damage to the roof of a building, while the other exploded in an open area. The Air Force said, “There was no damage to any equipmentInvestigation is being done in collaboration with civilian agencies.”

Defense Ministry PRO Lt Col Devendra Anand said, “There are reports of explosion inside the Jammu Air Force Station. No personnel were injured or there was any damage to any equipment.” Security agencies suspect that drones were used to drop bombs on the Air Force station.
