Israel: World leaders have urged an immediate cessation of hostilities and the safe evacuation of civilians amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which was triggered by the Palestinian militant group firing thousands of rockets into Israel earlier today. There are reports indicating that Hamas militants have taken multiple Israelis as hostages. Almost all major countries in the world, including US, have extended their support to Israel.

World Leaders stand in solidarity with Israel

Taking to X, PM Narendra Modi, wrote, “Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour.”

On Saturday, U.S. President Joe Biden also assured that the United States remains firmly supportive of Israel and cautioned against any adversary exploiting the ongoing attacks on the nation. In his media address, he said “The US Stands with Israel. We will not ever fail to have their back. We will make sure that they have the help their citizens need and they can continue to defend themselves.”

British PM Rishi Sunak said, “I am shocked by this morning’s attacks by Hamas terrorists against Israeli citizens. Israel has an absolute right to defend itself. We’re in contact with Israeli authorities, and British nationals in Israel should follow travel advice.”

French President Emmanuel said, “I strongly condemn the current terrorist attacks against Israel. I express my full solidarity with the victims, their families and loved ones.”

Egypt & Russia also extend support

Egypt issued a warning regarding the “grave repercussions” of an escalation in tensions between Israel and the Palestinians, conveying this message through a statement from the foreign ministry published by the state news agency.

Russia is actively engaging with Israel, the Palestinians, and Arab nations concerning the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as reported by the Interfax news agency, with Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov emphasizing the call for restraint in the situation. The Israeli army has reported that it is currently engaged in combat against Gaza-based terrorists who have entered Israel through various means, including land, sea, and air, utilizing paragliders.
