Weather Update: The Regional Meteorological Department (RMD) has issued a yellow notice in Tamil Nadu due to the heavy rains that have been plaguing different parts of the country. The sky in Chennai is forecast to be partly cloudy with light rain expected in some locations. Authorities have issued warning cautions due to the heatwave that has swept through many states, including Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. There is a risk of severe heatwaves in certain areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, according to the IMD, which has issued warnings. Moreover, isolated regions in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir are also under high alert. Temperatures are predicted to rise gradually until May 24, when it is predicted to reach 45 degrees Celsius.

IMD forecasts isolated areas of Kerala to see heavy rainfall. There’s a good chance of heavy rain in several areas of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and Meghalaya. The conditions ranging from a heat wave to a severe heat wave are expected to prevail throughout most of parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. There is a heat wave affecting the Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and the Jammu division. The weather condition of Patna is expected to have clear sky throughout the day time. However it may change into partial cloudy in the evening or night. The capital city of Jharkhand, i.e Ranchi is expected to have either cloudy sky or it may have rainfall today.
