Weather Update: There’s a good chance of isolated areas of heavy rainfall in Kerala, Mahe, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu. Thunderstorm, lightning, and strong winds (between 30 and 40 kmph) are likely to occur in isolated locations over Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep. There may also be isolated lightning strikes over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Dense fog is probably present in sporadic areas across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, and Bihar. It is quite possible that squally weather with wind gusts up to 55 kmph will persist over the Southeast Arabian Sea and the surrounding Lakshadweep area. It is advised that fishermen avoid these regions.
These areas are under rainfall and dense fog warning
Over the next four to five days, there should be mild to moderate rainfall in some areas, as well as a chance of an isolated thunderstorm and lightning over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Lakshadweep. It is also highly likely that there will be isolated, heavy rainfall across Kerala on December 8–10, over Tamil Nadu on December 8–9, and over Lakshadweep on December 8. On December 12, there is also a chance of hail in isolated areas over West Bengal and Sikkim in the Sub-Himalaya. On December 9, there was probably dense fog in certain areas over Punjab, Haryana, and East Uttar Pradesh; on December 10, there was probably dense fog over Bihar; on December 9, and on December 10, there was probably dense fog over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
