Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the cold wave will continue to sweep the country, with temperatures falling in Central India and East India today. There may be intermittent rains in the areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and the Islands. Over East India, IMD predicts that nightly low temperatures may drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius in the upcoming 24 hours.
Over a large portion of North India, daily life has been disturbed by extremely cold temperatures (in the single digits in some places) and dense fog. Today could see “thick to extremely dense fog,” according to the India Meteorological Department, across the regions of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
Delhi
The national capital will continue to reel under chilly temperatures as IMD predicts that the minimum, for today, will be 6 degrees while the maximum temperature will not exceed 17 degrees. However, the temperatures are predicted to arise from the upcoming week, marking some relief for the natives.
Mumbai
The city and its suburbs are predicted to remain pleasant with the constant temperatures likewise previous days. Some clouds might take over the city today. The maximum temperature for today will be 32 degrees and the minimum will be 24 degrees.
Chennai
IMD also predicts that there won’t be any significant change in the weather trends of Chennai. The weather is also likely to be clear and expected to be similar for upcoming days. For today, the maximum temperature will be 29 degrees while the minimum will be 24 degrees.

Kolkata
Pleasant days are on roll for Kolkata, though, a dip in temperature has caused the natives some difficulty. However, the weather is expected to be clearer for today with breezy winds throughout the city. For today, the maximum temperature will be 24 degrees and minimum will be 13 degrees.

What is the weather update for upcoming days?
While the neighbouring states of Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana will see comparable temperatures for the coming two to three days, Uttar Pradesh will experience chilly to extremely cold days during the next five days. According to yesterday’s IMD forecast, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, three Indian states, would experience chilly weather during the next two days.
