Weather Update: On Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that most parts of India are not expected to experience heat wave conditions until the end of this month. They also forecasted a new period of rainfall in the northwest region starting from Friday. Additionally, in the upcoming days, the IMD anticipates a new bout of thunderstorm or hailstorm activity in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Telangana.
The update stated, "No heat wave conditions are likely in the country during the next seven days." According to the weather office, a new period of rainfall is expected in the western Himalaya region starting from April 26, and in the northwestern plains from April 28. Furthermore, a new spell of thunderstorms or hailstorms is anticipated in central Maharashtra, Telangana, and the southern districts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from April 25 to April 27. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu and Kerala are expected to experience thunderstorms or rain for the next 3-4 days.
For today, the weather in Delhi will remain mostly clear with some occasional clouds. The temperature will range from 23 to 34 degrees Celsius, with low humidity levels and light winds.
Mumbai
Mumbai will witness partly cloudy skies with occasional spells of rain, resulting in a drop in temperature. The maximum temperature will be 33 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature will be 27 degrees Celsius. The humidity levels will be high and range between 70-85%, with light winds blowing throughout the day.
Chennai
As per the IMD, Chennai is projected to remain partly cloudy today with scattered thunderstorms during the day. However, the evening will remain mostly clear. For today, the maximum temperature will be 33 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 28 degrees. Humidity will remain higher.
The weather in Kolkata will remain mostly clear with partly cloudy skies. The temperature will range from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius, with high humidity levels and light winds. The conditions will be favourable for outdoor activities during the morning but will turn hot and humid during the afternoon.
