SRH vs DC IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals Back to Winning Ways! Beat SRH by 7 Runs to Win Back-to-Back Second match

SRH vs DC IPL 2023: In the 34th match of IPL 2023, Delhi Capitals has defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by a margin of 7 runs. The highly anticipated clash took place at the home ground of the losing team i.e. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Earlier, David Warner won the toss and chose to bat first but his team managed to score 144/9 in 20 overs. In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad succumbed to a brilliant bowling performance and could make just 137 runs in 20 overs. This is the second consecutive victory for DC after losing five matches in a row at start.

SRH batters succumb to middle over woes

Coming to chase a total of 145 runs, the home team did not have a great start as they lost the wicket of opener Harry Brook cheaply after he scored 7 off 14 balls. Mayank Aggarwal played a steady knock of 49 runs in 39 balls. Rahul Tripathi also smashed 15 runs off 21. However, after that, there was a minor collapse in batting as the wicket started to fall regularly after that.

Abhishek scored 5 while skipper Markram scored just 3 runs. Heinrich Klaasen played a crucial knock of 31* in 19 balls, hitting three boundaries and a solitary maximum. Washington Sunder also played a knock of 24* in 15 balls but failed to take his team across the boundary line as Mukesh Kumar defended 13 runs in the last over. Axar Patel & Nortje grabbed a couple of wickets each while Kuldeep Yadav and Ishant picked a wicket each.

DC batters’ dismal performance

Earlier, Delhi Capitals won the toss and opt to bat first. However, their batting lineup couldn’t do much as they had collapsed yet again in the match and had to resort to a low-total. Opener Philip Salt was dismissed on a first0ball duck while skipper David Warner smashed 21 off 20 balls. Manish Pandey and Axar Patel scored 34 runs each.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh also played a crucial knock of 25 runs off 15. None of the other batters could do much significant in the game. They were derailed during the middle overs when Washington Sundar grabbed three wickets in one over itself. During the powerplay, they scored 49 runs with a loss of two wickets. Sundar grabbed a three-wicket haul while Bhuvaneshwar picked two and Natarajan grabbed a wicket each.
