Weather Update: Winter has arrived in North India thanks to the snowfall in hilly regions. First few days of December has already seen an increase in the cold. The plains have also begun to experience severe winter due to snowfall, which has also caused a drop in temperature. In South Indian states, the rain is causing concern for the public. Approximately a 5-degree dip in temperature has been noted from Delhi-NCR to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Early in the day, thick fog covered both states.
According to the meteorological department, there will be an increase in cold and fog over the next few days, and the sting of the cold will be felt even during the day.
Delhi
The national capital is predicted to be mostly cloudy and hazy along with its poor air quality. However, the winter is steadily rising in Delhi and the temperature is most likely to drop even further in upcoming days. For today, the maximum temperature will be 25 degrees while the minimum will be 12 degrees.
Mumbai
Mumbai is also predicted to remain under cloud covers, however, the temperature is likely to remain at the usual range. No rains are predicted for a few more days. Today’s maximum temperature will be 32 degrees and minimum wil be 24 degrees.
Chennai
Chennai will continue to experience scattered thunderstorms along with dense cloud cover. The similar weather pattern is likely to continue tomorrow as well. However, as per the latest weather update, the city will get a relief from rains on Monday & Tuesday but will again get lashed from Wednesday. For today, the maximum temperature will be 30 degrees while the minimum will be 26 degrees.

Kolkata
Saturday is predicted to be just as pleasant as the usual weather of Kolkata. A little amount of humidity will continue to impact the city and have sunny weather. The maximum temperature will be 29 degrees while the minimum will be 17 degrees.

Which state will receive rainfall today?
The Meteorological Department has predicted that in the upcoming 48 hours, a cyclonic circulation is expected to form in the South Andaman Sea. Because of this, around December 5, a low pressure region will form over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the nearby south Andaman Sea, and Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Karnataka may see severe rainfall.
