Weather Update: IMD’s ‘Red alert’ warning, heavy rainfall in these states

Weather Update: In the second phase of Monsoon, rain has once again returned to the fore in numerous states. Moist winds from the Bay of Bengal are making their way to North India as a result of a deep low pressure system that has formed over Odisha. Due to these winds, today rainfall is expected in UP, Punjab, Haryana including Delhi.

Red alert in Odisha

A red alert has been issued for severe rainfall in Odisha today. Here, SDRF teams are leading the way with great effort. Today there is a probability of intense rain and flood-like situation in many districts here. On the other side, some areas of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh are under a green alert.

Orange alert in these states

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert warning in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh (MP), Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

Delhi weather update

IMD forecast , Delhi’s maximum temperature today will be 34 degrees Celsius and its minimum temperature will be 26 degrees Celsius. There is a probability of drizzle in Delhi-NCR today. Rain activities will decrease again on August 15, according to Skymet Weather. There is a possibility of light rain in Delhi on August 15.

Flood risk in Odisha

Due to severe rainfall in Odisha’s upper catchment areas and high water flow in the Hirakud reservoir, the flood risk has increased in the areas close to the Mahanadi. Officials shared this information on Saturday. Officials say that the formation of another low pressure region over the North Bay of Bengal could make the situation worse. As a result, the IMD has issued a red alert of rainstorm in 17 districts of the state.
