Weather Update: Rains to lash North today, brace for spells in THESE regions

Weather Update: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that a Western Disturbance is expected to bring light rain to various regions from today i.e. January 29th. This precipitation may cause a decrease in minimum temperatures over the next couple of days. In the capital city of Delhi, the minimum temperature on Friday, January 27th was 9 degrees, while the maximum temperature reached 21 degrees, which was the highest temperature recorded this month.

In addition to the light rain, the Western Himalayan region can also expect light to moderate snowfall. Other regions such as Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh are also likely to experience rain on January 29th and 30th. Similar weather conditions are also forecasted to prevail in Rajasthan on January 28th and 29th, and in Delhi on January 29th.

Delhi

IMD has predicted that the national capital will receive showers today. This change will also impact in foggy conditions and a reduction in temperature as well. Also, drizzles will continue to show their intensity throughout the day. For today, the maximum temperature will be 16 degrees while the minimum will be 9 degrees.

Mumbai

The city and its suburbs will be having a partially overcast sky today. Though, no further changes are predicted apart from fall in temperature. For today, the maximum temperature will be 27 degrees while the minimum will be 22 degrees.

Chennai

Chennai will also be covered by a few clouds today. Also, IMD has predicted that the city will once again get lashed by the rains tomorrow. However, the intensity won't be very high. For today, the maximum temperature will be 30 degrees while the minimum will be 24 degrees.

Kolkata

IMD has predicted that Kolkata will continue to have pleasant weather today. Although, some regions are predicted to be partially cloudy. For today, the maximum temperature will be 29 degrees and minimum will be 16 degrees.

City-wise Weather Update

Additionally, on January 29 and 30, as well as in several areas of Rajasthan up to January 29, there is a chance of hailstorms in the western Himalayan region, Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh. On January 29 and 30, a strong wind with a speed of 20 to 30 kmph will blow over northwest India. The Meteorological Department predicts that much of northwest India might experience a 3 to 5 degree drop in temperature today. The following two days might see a 3 to 5 degree increase in temperature.
