Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a heatwave and extremely hot temperatures for the next few days, as well as a yellow alert for many districts in Kerala. The Meteorological Centre Jaipur reports that throughout the past 24 hours, light rain and thunder have been observed in certain areas of the divisions of Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Jaipur, and Bharatpur. In a number of states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, and others, the India Meteorological Department has forecast rain and heat waves. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be clear skies in Delhi NCR for the next 48 hours, and winds in Delhi will reach 25 to 35 km/h. It is expected that the temperature of the day would be warmer in Delhi and Chennai.

IMD forecasts that there will probably be isolated areas of severe rain or snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh. Over the North Interior Karnataka, warm nights are probably going to dominate in a few isolated places. Extremely likely to occur in isolated areas over Telangana, North and South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema. It is quite probable that coastal regions in Gujarat State, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Kerala & Mahe would have hot and muggy weather. Thunderstorm with lightning, hail, and gusty winds (up to 50 kmph) in isolated locations over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Marathwada; in isolated locations over West Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh; in isolated locations over Gangetic West Bengal and Telangana; and in isolated locations over West Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal.
