Weather Update: The departure of the monsoon is ongoing in various regions of the country, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that within the next 24 hours, the Southwest Monsoon will completely withdraw from East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, and the Central Arabian Sea. Meanwhile, the meteorological department anticipates light to moderate rainfall in specific areas of the country, including Delhi, while other regions will remain dry throughout the week.
One or two locations in Western Uttar Pradesh may experience rain and thundershowers, while Lucknow, the capital city, is expected to be hot and humid. Light to moderate rain is anticipated in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh on October 9 and 10.
Between October 9 and 11, heavy rain is likely in Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, and Kerala, as per the Meteorological Department’s forecast. There is also a possibility of rain and thunder with lightning in South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on Sunday. On October 9, the Met Department predicts rain with lightning in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
Delhi
In a surprise turn of events, the national capital will remain mostly engulfed in clouds the entire day. There is a chance of showers as well. For today, the maximum temperature will be 36 degrees while. the minimum will be 25 degrees with the humidity at 44%.
Mumbai
In contrast to Delhi, IMD has predicted a mostly sunny day for Mumbai and its suburbs. The weather conditions will remain similar for the entire week. For today, the maximum temperature will be 33 degrees while. the minimum will be 26 degrees with the humidity at 73%.
Chennai
Chennai has been forecast to remain sunny as well. Though, there will be patches of partial cloudiness during the day. For today, the maximum temperature will be 34 degrees while. the minimum will be 27 degrees with the humidity at 77%.
Kolkata
A clear day is on the cards for Kolkata as well. However, there will be some partial cloud cover during the afternoon. For today, the maximum temperature will be 34 degrees while. the minimum will be 27 degrees with the humidity at 81%.
