Terrorists have been reported to be active in the form of sleeper cells in the border areas of West Bengal. They are sometimes targeting unemployed youths in the state through online. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Kolkata Police’s Special Task Force (STF) have obtained this information from three JMB terrorists, who were recently arrested by the STF from a colony on the southern outskirts of Kolkata. Investigating officers are concerned that systematic brainwashing by these terrorist groups has left many bright but unemployed youth isolated from mainstream society.
