Vande Bharat Express: India’s homegrown Vande Bharat Express trains have been in the limelight nationally and globally increasingly. Countries like Chile, Canada, and Malaysia showed interest in importing these trains by attracting a mix of cost-effectiveness, speed, and design.
A Key Factor for Global Buyers
One of the primary attractions it offers to international buyers is its price. While trains of the same capacity constructed elsewhere in the world come around Rs 160-180 crore, Vande Bharat trains cost much lesser at Rs 120-130 crore. It’s an affordability factor where the countries that are upgrading their railway networks do not need to strain their budget.
It stands out on performance besides cost. This is how a train accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour, faster than the famous bullet train of Japan accelerates in 54 seconds. Increasing the speed up to its maximum horsepower, as is evident by its modern engineering, it has become pretty popular too, considering its sleek and beautiful design. Besides the aesthetic delight, the train also runs mute and silent, with a ride that is 100 times quieter than that on an aircraft. It is also energy efficient: with low energy consumption, this train further adds to its sustainability credentials by shining in every parameter of sustainability.
Continuous Expansion of India’s Railway Network
Indian Railways is not resting on its laurels on the domestic front, expanding continuously from the current achievement. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that the tracks increased more than 31,000 kilometres added in the past decade alone, and stated goal to extend the tracks by another 40,000 kilometers. In addition, the work on the bullet train project is moving along well that is giving a new direction to India about the modernization of transportation infrastructure.
As for safety, the Indian Railways is rolling out its adoption of the armor system, which may be cheap but is definitely effective. It plans to cover about 40,000 kilometers of the country’s railway network and arm about 10,000 locomotives with technology for enhanced passenger safety on all sides. Indian engineering prowess stands at the back of Vande Bharat Express and doing much globally to attract attention while amending its domestic rail system.
