On June 24, the MD of Twitter India got relief from the Karnataka High Court in a case related to the video of a Muslim elder being assaulted and beard cutting incident in Loni.

However, the Uttar Pradesh government has reached the Supreme Court against the decision of the Karnataka High Court. The government has challenged the decision of the Karnataka High Court by filing a petition against Manish Maheshwari in the Supreme Court. In which the Karnataka High Court had stayed any action of the Ghaziabad Police.

In fact, Manish Maheshwari, MD, Twitter India, filed a writ petition in the Karnataka High Court challenging the notice received by the Ghaziabad Police under section 41A.

Maheshwari's counsel told the court that his client lives in Bengaluru and the Ghaziabad police is personally calling him. In the time of Corona, even the Supreme Court has said that the statement can be recorded through video conferencing but the Ghaziabad Police is not agreeing to this. This attitude of the police is beyond comprehension.

Manish Maheshwari has also filed a caveat in the Supreme Court. In this, Maheshwari has demanded that before hearing the application filed by the UP government, his side should also be heard. In fact, recently a video of an elderly Muslim man from Loni in Ghaziabad had gone viral, in which some youths were seen assaulting the elderly and cutting his beard.

The Ghaziabad police said in this that this matter is not related to religion, but a fight took place in a mutual quarrel. In the matter related to sharing this video of beating with the elderly, the police have made a case against many people including Twitter. In this case, the Ghaziabad Police sent a notice to the MD of Twitter India and called for questioning.
