World Economic Outlook: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released the latest World Economic Outlook (WEO). In February end, India updated its gross domestic product estimates with a new base due to concerns that the previous GDP series was overestimating GDP of the country. In terms of the Indian currency, the GDP of India was rolled back from Rs 357 trillion to Rs 345 trillion for 2025-26.

Gaura Sengupta, chief economist, IDFC First Bank, commented that the rank change reflects a new base year of India’s GDP where the nominal gross domestic product is lower than the old base gross domestic product by 4 percent. Bengal Assembly Elections 2026: The Income Tax department has raided the election office and residence of Debasish Kumar, a candidate from the Rashbehari Assembly seat and a senior Trinamool Congress leader. The Election Commission of India has started the commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPATs) for Tamil Nadu constituencies and the first phase in West Bengal. It was remarked by the EC that the commissioning exercise would be followed by a mock poll of 1000 votes in 5 percent of the EVMs.
Voting in the state of West Bengal would start in two phases on April 23 and April 29 while voting in the state of Tamil Nadu would happen on April 23. Results for all five states (Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu) would be announced on May 4.

About The Sequel
Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge continues the story of Ranveer Singh’s character, an Indian spy trained to infiltrate criminal networks in Lyary. The sequel explores his deeper transformation into Hamza Ali Mazari and his mission to dismantle terror operations threatening India.
The film also features intense conflict sequences, including a major face-off between Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal. The cast includes R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun and Danish Pandor.
Released on March 19, the film also had paid previews on March 18 and was released across multiple languages.
