NHAI: Alert! FASTag Annual Pass To Get Costlier From THIS Date! 5 Things Travellers Need To Keep In Mind On National Highways

NHAI: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that the annual FASTag pass pricing would be revised to ₹3,075 from the current ₹3,000 with effect from April 1, 2026.

NHAI-FASTag Annual Pass

The FASTag Annual Pass facilitates convenient and seamless travel for eligible non-commercial vehicles across approximately 1150 fee plazas on National Expressways and Highways via a one-time payment that is valid for 200 toll crossings or one year. The new toll charge would be applicable for eligible non-commercial users like vans, jeeps and cars that possess a valid FASTag.

Vehicle owners with a functional FASTag would be able to activate the yearly pass by making the required payment via the NHAI website or the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app. Typically, the pass gets activated within 2 hours for the existing FASTag associated with the vehicle.

NHAI-FASTag Annual Pass Services

A toll receipt or FASTag record allows passengers to avail the following FREE services:

1. 24×7 Emergency Helpline (1033) and Free Ambulance

Passengers can report breakdowns, unsafe conditions, accidents or request assistance by dialling the toll-free helpline number 1033.

NHAI offers free ambulances on most stretches. A significant majority of highways have tie-ups with nearby trauma centres and hospitals. Before ambulance arrival, first aid is usually available at toll plazas. In case the vehicle becomes immobilized, passenger is entitled to free towing to the nearest safest location (may be payable under certain circumstances, depending on the distance).

2. On-the-Spot Minor Repair Assistance

Immediate help for small issues is offered by patrol teams. These issues relate to battery jump-start, flat tire replacement and minor mechanical troubleshooting.

3. Access to Basic Amenities at Toll Plazas

All toll plazas are expected to offer clean and separate restrooms for men and women, drinking water and rest areas/seating in certain cases.

4. Road Safety Infrastructure and Assistance

Your toll fee contributes to and gives you access to crash barriers and lighting on major stretches as well as proper signage, reflectors and lane markings.

5. Continuous Highway Patrol Support

Patrol vehicles are deployed by NHAI along highways to assist stranded vehicles proactively, enforce basic safety compliance and monitor accidents and congestion for reducing response time compared to waiting for help.

UP Recruitment 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has announced recruitment for 2,759 Technical Assistant Group-C posts under the Agriculture Directorate, offering a major opportunity for candidates in the agriculture sector.

According to the official notification, online applications will begin from May 22, 2026, with the last date to apply set as June 11, 2026. Candidates will be allowed to make corrections in their application forms until June 18, 2026.

UP Recruitment 2026: Eligibility and Application Process

Only candidates who have qualified the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025) will be eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted online through the official UPSSSC website.

The application fee is ₹25 for all categories, making the process accessible to a wide range of applicants.

Out of the total 2,759 posts:

  • 1,692 posts are unreserved

CM Yogi Adityanath: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the launch of ‘Nivesh Mitra 3.0’, a single-window portal for making the state’s investment processes intervention-free and easier.

CM Adityanath also distributed Letters of Comfort (LoCs) to 62 firms and incentives to 45 companies. Terming it as an important step for industrial development, CM Adityanath reed that these proposals would help in generating investments worth Rs. 50,000 crore. Even without any holiday benefit or ticket discounts, the film is running at a historic speed. It is now set to beat the lifetime collection of Stree 2. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel has already earned the super-hit tag much earlier than expected, showing the massive love from the audience.

The film created another record by scoring the highest first Tuesday collection in Hindi cinema history. Theatres remain packed, advance bookings are strong, and occupancy is steady even on weekdays. Because of this, the Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge box office collection is growing at a rare pace.

Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge had a huge opening weekend with Rs 454 crore net in India. This number includes Rs 43 crore from paid previews and three straight days of Rs 100 crore plus collections, which has never happened before in Hindi cinema.The film stayed very strong on Monday too. It dropped only 43% and still earned Rs 65 crore net. This became the biggest Monday collection for any Indian film. With this, the five-day total reached Rs 519 crore.

On Day 6 (Tuesday), the film continued its strong run. Morning shows recorded around 30% occupancy across India even though it was a working day. According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 56.55 crore net on Tuesday. This pushed the Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge Box Office Collection to Rs 575.67 crore in just six days.

The film will cross Rs 600 crore on Day 7. If that happens, it will easily beat Stree 2’s India lifetime total of Rs 597.99 crore net.

Ranveer Singh Starrer Beats Gadar 2, Pathaan And Animal

With the latest numbers, the Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge Box Office Collection has already crossed the Hindi total of Baahubali 2 (Rs 511 crore), which stayed unbeaten for years. The film is now the fastest Hindi film to reach Rs 500 crore.The Ranveer Singh starrer has also gone past several big hits. These include Gadar 2 (Rs 525 crore), Pathaan (Rs 543 crore), and Animal (Rs 556 crore). Looking at the current trend, the film may soon cross Rs 700 crore. It could also challenge the lifetime total of the first Dhurandhar, which earned Rs 895 crore net.If the same speed continues, the sequel may finish as one of the biggest Hindi blockbusters ever.

About Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge

The Dhurandhar franchise is directed by Aditya Dhar. The story was first shot as one long film but later divided into two parts because the runtime was nearly four hours.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge follows Jaskirat Singh Rangi, played by Ranveer Singh. He is a death-row prisoner who is recruited by IB Director Ajay Sanyal, played by R Madhavan, for a risky undercover mission in Karachi.

After the events of the first film, Jaskirat continues his mission using the identity of Hamza Ali Mazari. He rises in the underworld and becomes known as the feared “Sher-e-Baloch”.His mission is to destroy the masterminds behind the 26/11 attacks. These include Major Iqbal, played by Arjun Rampal, and the mysterious “Bade Sahab”, played by Danish Iqbal.

The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in important roles.

LPG Shortage: The Union Government has debunked all fake news related to a change in Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) gas booking new rules and shortage of petrol & diesel reserves in the country.

In a post on X, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas clarified that several media houses have been trying to create a panic-like situation by suggesting that the number of LPG refill booking days has been increased.

However, the minimum gap between two refill bookings remains 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas as per existing guidelines. Consumers have been asked by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to avoid panic buying.

In another development, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas also clarified that there is absolutely no shortage of petrol or diesel reserves in the country. It urged consumers NOT to engage into panic buying, hoarding or other illegal practices.

Eateries Cut Menu, Switch To Coal

Meanwhile, several roadside eateries, dhabas, hotels and restaurants have been forced to cut down on their food menu or switch to alternatives like induction cooktops or coal amid LPG shortage in the country.

Meanwhile, the Union Government has announced that a new framework has been unveiled for strengthening consumer-centric gas delivery services. It is also facilitating a smooth and seamless transition to piped natural gas (PNG) so that consumers don’t face financial burden while applying for PNG connections.

A transparent dispute resolution mechanism along with protective measures against arbitrary denial of access for laying down of pipelines is also introduced by the Union Government in areas where PNG connectivity is technically not feasible or difficult.

The move is likely to help in the expansion of gas distribution networks in the country. It would also help improve energy security, speed up the adoption of cleaner energy and minimize dependence on a single fuel source across industries, transportation and households.
