On Top! With India French Rafale Deal Sealed, Can China, Pakistan Ever Match India’s Air Superiority ? Edge Explained

Rafale Deal
google

India has sealed a massive defence procurement contract, worth an impressive ₹3.25 lakh crore, for 114 state-of-the-art F4 standard fighter jets from French manufacturer Dassault. This deal is a major boost for the Indian Air Force (IAF), which began with the procurement of 36 jets back in 2016.

This expansion will take India’s fleet of Rafale fighters past 150 aircraft, thus tilting the regional military aerospace balance against China and Pakistan.

Rafale F4 Deal: Why It Is a Game-Changer for India

The Rafale F4 standard will include upgrades such as advanced avionics, better fusion of sensors, satellites, communication, and the concept of NCW. Its biggest advantage is the Meteor beyond-visual-range missile, which has a range of approximately 150 km, including a “no-escape zone.”

Compared to competitors such as the PL-15 used by China or the AMRAAM employed by Pakistan, the Meteor offers higher dependability and combat history. The Rafale’s multi-role potential in air superiority, deep attack missions, reconnaissance, and nuclear deterrence provides the IAF with tactical flexibility.

Significantly, the jets areoptimized for the high-altitude conditions of the Himalayan Mountains. Fleet readiness is said to exist around an average of 75%, and this is an advantage in sustained combat situations.

The J-20 Challenge: Numbers vs Quality

The PLA Air Force of China operates more than 200 Chengdu J-20 stealth fighters and is ramping up production at a very fast rate. On paper, Beijing has numerical superiority.

But experts flag issues about the reliability of the engine and the maturity of sensors. While the J-20 is a fifth-generation stealth aircraft, it lacks combat-proven Meteor-class missile capability. High-altitude operations near the Himalayas also stretch Chinese aircraft’s performance.

Pakistan’s FC-31 Bet: A Limited Counter

The Pakistan Air Force operates a mix of F-16s and JF-17s and is inducting the Shenyang FC-31 as a Rafale counter. Integration delays, training gaps, and lower fleet readiness weaken its immediate impact.

AR Rahman: Anuradha Paudwal Calls Music Maestro ‘Saintly Person,’ Rubbishes Communal Claim, Will the Controversy End?

The AR Rahman communal remark controversy refuses to die down. Veteran singer Anuradha Paudwal has stepped in to defend the Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman, calling him a “saintly person” and dismissing claims that his recent comments had communal undertones. Yet, even with her backing, the debate across Bollywood and social media remains intense.

What Sparked the AR Rahman Communal Remark Controversy?

The row began after Rahman’s interview with BBC Asian Network, where he spoke about the decline in his Hindi film projects over the past eight years. He hinted that “non-creative power holders” and possible communal factors may have influenced opportunities, though he clarified he had not personally faced discrimination.

Rahman also criticised films like Chhaava for promoting divisive narratives. His remarks triggered backlash from public figures such as Shobhaa De, Paresh Rawal, and Kangana Ranaut, who questioned his claims. Some right-wing groups also weighed in, amplifying the controversy.

Anuradha Paudwal’s Strong Defence of Rahman

Speaking to ANI on February 11–12, 2026, Paudwal firmly rejected the communal label attached to Rahman. Though she admitted she has never personally met him, she said his music reflects a “pure and saintly soul.”

According to her, media narratives often twist statements for sensationalism. She stressed that a composer of Rahman’s stature cannot be shaken by temporary controversies. Paudwal highlighted his timeless musical legacy and global recognition, suggesting that such debates do little to dent his credibility.

As of February 13, 2026, the controversy shows no signs of fully settling. While Rahman released a clarification video emphasising that India shaped his musical journey and that he never intended to hurt sentiments, reactions remain divided.

Support from Paudwal adds weight to his defence, but criticism continues online and within industry circles. Rahman’s upcoming global project Ramayana, alongside Hans Zimmer likely to dominate headlines soon.

India US Trade Deal: Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has remarked that India would receive zero tariff benefits from the United States, similar to those extended by the Trump administration to Bangladesh.

Goyal remarked the US India trade deal would include a duty benefit clause that enables India to take advantage of zero tariffs if cotton yarn is imported from USA. Interestingly, neither the White House factsheet nor the joint statement explicitly mentions this clause.

India US Trade Deal-Comments By Commerce Minister

Goyal remarked that India would receive the same benefits as Bangladesh if purchased raw material is from USA. The Union Commerce Minister added zero reciprocal tariffs would be a reality if the cloth is made using US raw materials.

It was assured by Goyal that deal’s fine print would be clear to all after the India US trade deal is finalized. This would help in creating thousands of direct as well as indirect jobs in the country.

Trump Comments On Historic Deal

In another development, US President Donald Trump hailed the India US trade deal as “historic”. Trump remarked the United States has made historic trade deals with India, Korea and Japan to increase the country’s coal exports significantly. A joint statement by New Delhi and Washington disclosed that the two countries have reached a framework in the context of reciprocal and mutually beneficial trade.

Vinay Mohan Kwatra, India’s Ambassador to the United States and former Foreign Secretary remarked the India US trade deal is a new economic pillar and reflects a mutually-beneficial, carefully negotiated and balanced outcome that protects the core interests of India while opening up countless economic opportunities.

The United States also signed a deal with Taiwan. White House reduced tariffs on the Asian nation from 20 to 15 percent. US trade representative Jamieson Greer remarked the US Taiwan deal would eliminate non-tariff and tariff barriers that are presently being experienced by US exports to Taiwan.

Actor Rajpal Yadav has once again become the centre of an online debate due to the conversation triggered by Kamaal R Khan. KRK’s recent posts on X have gone viral and triggered intense discussions on Reddit.

The controversy arrives amid Yadav’s ongoing legal troubles. A few days back, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actor surrendered to Tihar Jail after failing to resolve a long-standing debt dispute. Many fans initially expressed sympathy. However, KRK’s tweets have left some people in doubt.

Netizens Debate Over Rajpal Yadav After KRK’s Tweet Goes Viral

KRK first appeared supportive and publicly offered Rs 10 lakh in financial assistance. He also urged Bollywood people to step forward. In his post, he appealed to fellow celebrities to help raise what he claimed was the remaining ₹5 crore needed for Yadav’s release.

Soon after, KRK’s stance changed. He began making claims about Rajpal Yadav’s finances. Citing unnamed sources, KRK alleged that the actor owns properties worth nearly Rs 50 crore. Based on this, he suggested that Yadav was not financially helpless but was “willingly” avoiding repayment.

KRK also questioned Yadav’s past business dealings. He claimed the actor had borrowed money from several industry figures without returning it. Additionally, he referred to reports that one of Yadav’s properties in Uttar Pradesh had been sealed in 2024 over an unpaid loan.

KRK questioned why Yadav’s wife was not also in custody. He stated that the legal case involved both of them. KRK further claimed that a friend had paid Rs 1.50 crore on her behalf. Despite the allegations, he maintained that his Rs 10 lakh cheque was ready to be collected.

These posts quickly spread online and sparked heated reactions.

As KRK’s tweets gained traction, Reddit users began sharing their views. Read some user comments below:

“A friend of mine lives in the same building as him in Mumbai and the apartments in there are expensive as hell, some go close to 5 crores according to him, so he definitely can afford it, but either has a terrible CA or was cocky enough to believe he could dodge it.”

“Nd pple blaming celebs for not helping him.”

“People who know Rajpal closely know his networth. He has enough money to erase all debts. He just doesn’t want to.”

“If he receives a settlement amount, then he can easily close the loan for half or less of the actual loan amount. Settlementsare usually done within 25-35% of the loan outstanding. He is just using an advantage of RBI rules for the needy.”

“Honestly, I also have the same doubt, bhai uske pass property hai, itne saalo ki mehnat ki kamai , usmeisei thoda nikal ke dena badi baath nahi thi, I mean thi, but aisa nahi hai na ki sadak pe aate ?”

“His Wikipedia page mentions he has been jailed twice before, both for financial matters.

Notably, none of these claims have been independently verified. The online debate continues to grow as opinions remain divided.

Rajpal’s Next Bail Hearing Set For February 16

Rajpal Yadav is currently serving a six-month sentence linked to cheque bounce cases. The legal dispute dates back to 2010, when he borrowed funds to produce his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. Following the film’s commercial failure, the debt reportedly increased due to interest and penalties.

The Delhi High Court has adjourned Yadav’s bail hearing to February 16, 2026. During the latest proceedings, the court declined interim relief, citing earlier settlement failures. Reports indicate that Yadav’s legal team recently proposed a fresh payment of Rs 25 lakh.

Meanwhile, industry chatter suggests that several Bollywood figures, including Sonu Sood, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn, have informally expressed support.

Kiss Day 2026: Is First Kiss Really That Important? Research Involving 900 People Reveals THIS

Kiss Day 2026 - Is First Kiss Really Important

Kiss Day 2026: Kiss is all about romance, intimacy and affection. However, it also revives a question many people have wondered about: Does first kiss really matter? While it may feel like a simple romantic moment, science suggests there is much more happening beneath the surface.

Researchers across psychology, biology and anthropology have studied kissing for years. Their findings reveal that kissing is not just about attraction. Instead, it plays a key role in emotional bonding, compatibility and even relationship satisfaction.

The Evolution And Science Behind Kissing

Surprisingly, kissing is not just a modern human habit. A study published in Evolution and Human Behavior traced the roots of kissing back millions of years. Researchers suggest that kissing may have evolved between 16.9 and 21.5 million years ago, long before humans existed.

The study explains that behaviours similar to kissing were observed in early primates. Species like chimpanzees, bonobos and orangutans display non-aggressive mouth-to-mouth contact. Scientists describe kissing as gentle mouth contact without food transfer.

Experts believe kissing may have evolved for social bonding, mate selection, and assessing compatibility. In simple terms, a kiss may help individuals evaluate emotional and biological connections.

From a biological perspective, kissing triggers powerful reactions in the body. It releases neurochemicals such as oxytocin, dopamine and serotonin. These are often called “feel-good hormones.”

These chemicals help create feelings of pleasure, trust and closeness. They can also reduce stress and strengthen emotional bonds. This explains why many people remember their first kiss so vividly.

Kiss Day 2026: Does First Kiss Really Matter?

Scientific research suggests that it can.

In a study involving more than 900 participants aged 18 to 63, psychologists explored how people perceive kissing in relationships. The findings showed that many individuals use kissing as a way to judge attraction and compatibility.

Interestingly, women and people seeking long-term relationships were more likely to consider the first kiss important. For them, it was linked to relationship satisfaction and emotional connection.

Kissing is not only about physical chemistry. It also carries emotional and social meaning. Studies show that couples who kiss more often tend to report stronger closeness and higher relationship quality.

However, cultural differences also play a role. Not all societies view kissing the same way. In fact, some cultures historically did not practice romantic kissing at all.

So, is a first kiss really that important? Science says kissing is a deeply rooted human behaviour with emotional and biological significance. For many people, a first kiss becomes memorable because of the strong psychological and hormonal responses it triggers. Ultimately, its importance depends on personal feelings, expectations and cultural context.

AAP’s Major Protest Across Punjab Against India-US Deal; Accuses Centre of Compromising National Interests

Punjab News

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), terming India-USA deal as “fatal” for Indian farmers and traders, held strong protests on Thursday in various districts of Punjab. Party workers fully supported the ‘Bharat Bandh’ against the policies of the Central Government and came out on the roads to register their protest.

During the protest, AAP leaders and workers held placards with slogans written against the deal and raised slogans against the Central Government. AAP accused the Central Government of compromising the nation’s interests under pressure from the United States and demanded that this deal be immediately cancelled.

Addressing the gathering, Farmers’ Wing President Mohinder Singh Sidhu said that this agreement will break the backbone of India’s agricultural system. Under this deal, the United States has been allowed to sell dairy and other agricultural products in Indian markets without any tax. This will make American products available in Indian markets at very cheap prices, and the business of our local farmers and dairy operators will come to a complete standstill.

AAP leader and Trade Wing General Secretary Ranjit Pal Singh said that this decision of the Central Government is an attack on our ‘annadata’ (food providers). On one hand, there will be no tax on American products, while on the other hand, Indian traders will have to pay up to 18% tax in the United States. This is not an equal deal.

General Secretary Satvir Singh Bakshi Wala said that this agreement is a step towards economic slavery. The Central Government has handed over the country’s economy to foreign companies. This will cause economic losses not only to farmers but to every citizen of the country. “We will go among the people and expose the Centre’s anti-people policy,” he said.

Bhagwant Mann meets citizens during ‘Lok Milni’ programme in Jalandhar

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday met citizens at his Jalandhar residence under the government’s ‘Lok Milni’ public interaction initiative, where he listened to grievances and directed officials to resolve issues on the spot.

Direct interaction with citizens

During the programme, Mann heard complaints and requests from attendees and instructed concerned departmental officers to address them immediately. According to the Chief Minister, such outreach programmes are intended to ensure that administrative solutions reach people without delay.

Bhagwant Mann: Government’s commitment

Mann said the government is committed to ensuring that citizens do not face unnecessary difficulties and that it is fulfilling its duty toward the public with full responsibility. He emphasized that resolving people’s problems remains a priority for the administration.

Future plans

The Chief Minister stated that similar ‘Lok Milni’ programmes will continue in the future, indicating that the government plans to maintain direct engagement platforms for grievance redressal and public feedback.

Administrative significance

Officials say such initiatives help reduce bureaucratic delays, improve accountability, and strengthen trust between citizens and the government by enabling real-time problem resolution.

Officials present at the event noted that grievances raised by citizens ranged from civic infrastructure concerns and utility issues to individual administrative matters such as documentation delays and local service requests. Departments were instructed to prepare follow-up reports to ensure that the directions issued during the session are implemented within stipulated timelines.

Public response
Attendees reportedly welcomed the initiative, saying direct access to the Chief Minister and senior officials gave them confidence that their concerns were being heard at the highest level. Several citizens expressed satisfaction after receiving on-the-spot assurances or immediate administrative intervention.

New Income Tax Rules May Revive Interest In Old Regime For High-Income Salaried Taxpayers

Income- Tax- News
Google

The recently notified Income Tax Rules, 2026, may shift taxpayer preference back toward the old tax regime, particularly among high-income salaried individuals, according to tax experts and early assessments of the changes. The rules introduce three significant revisions that could alter the cost-benefit calculation between the two systems.

What has changed

The government has proposed adjustments that affect deductions, compliance provisions, and reporting requirements. While the new tax regime still offers lower slab rates with minimal exemptions, the updated rules appear to strengthen certain benefits linked to deductions and allowances available only under the old regime.

Why high earners may reconsider

Tax professionals say individuals in higher salary brackets often rely on deductions such as house rent allowance, home-loan interest, insurance premiums, and investment-linked exemptions. With refinements in how some of these benefits can be claimed or documented, the relative advantage of the new regime could narrow for this group.

Compliance and documentation impact

One of the changes focuses on revised reporting norms, which may streamline claim processes for specific exemptions. Analysts suggest that if compliance becomes simpler while deductions remain substantial, taxpayers with structured salary packages may find the old regime more financially efficient.

The Centre has repeatedly signalled its long-term intent to make the new tax regime the default system. However, the latest rule adjustments indicate a balancing approach, ensuring that taxpayers who depend on deductions are not disadvantaged during the transition phase.

Chartered accountants and financial planners advise salaried taxpayers not to assume the new regime is automatically better. Instead, they recommend annual tax comparisons based on salary structure, investments, and deductions before choosing a regime.

What taxpayers should do

Financial advisers suggest that individuals, especially those with high annual income and multiple exemptions, should run detailed calculations for the assessment year 2026–27 before filing returns. The decision should be based on actual tax liability rather than slab rates alone.

Outlook ahead

If the revised provisions translate into tangible tax savings for deduction-heavy earners, the coming filing season could see a measurable increase in taxpayers opting for the old regime again, reversing the recent trend toward the simplified system.

BJP’s US-India deal is conspiracy to destroy Punjab’s farmers & sell India’s agriculture to America: Harpal Singh Cheema

Harpal Singh Cheema

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Thursday addressed a press conference at the party office and strongly criticised the BJP-led Central Government, saying it has hatched a big scheme and conspiracy to destroy Punjab’s farmers and sell India’s agriculture to the USA through a so-called US-India deal.

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said, “The BJP-led Central Government has prepared a big scheme and conspiracy to destroy Punjab’s farmers and sell India’s agriculture to the USA through this so-called US-India deal.”

The Finance Minister warned that if cheap American milk powder, cheese, grains and other agricultural products begin entering India at low prices, it will directly crush Punjab’s farmers and farmers across the country. Raising a serious question, he said, “Where will Punjab’s farmers go? Where will the country’s farmers go?”

Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that Punjab’s farmer has been feeding the nation for decades and that Punjab has contributed massively to India’s National Food Buffer through wheat and paddy for nearly 50 years, continuing to do so even today. “It is shameful that the same annadata who brought a large-scale food revolution in the country is now being targeted through a deep political and economic conspiracy,” he added.

Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the BJP, which claims to be a nationalist party and talks about Swadeshi India, has today been completely sold to the USA. He said the BJP’s Central Government has surrendered before America and is now attempting to make India dependent once again.

Referring to a tweet by the US Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said the truth is now openly visible to the entire world. “The US Agriculture Secretary publicly thanked President Trump and openly celebrated the deal, stating that it would export more American farm products into India’s massive market, lift American prices, pump cash into rural America and strengthen the US economy. This is clear evidence that the deal is not being done for Indian farmers, but for American farmers,” he asserted.

Minister Harpal Singh Cheema questioned why BJP leaders in Punjab are misleading the public by claiming that Punjab will benefit from this deal. Taking direct aim at Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, he said that Sunil Jakhar is holding press conferences and claiming Punjab will gain, but the BJP has no courage to respond to the US Agriculture Secretary’s tweet. Minister Harpal Singh Cheema asked, “Do you have the courage to quote-tweet this statement and respond to America?”

Minister Harpal Singh Cheema demanded that Sunil Jakhar, BJP working president Ashwini Sharma and BJP MP Ravneet Bittu immediately make the documents of this deal public before the people of Punjab, the farmers of India and the common citizens of the country. He said, “Show the documents. Make them public. These are the documents through which you are trying to destroy the country.”

Highlighting the tariff and tax issues, Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that earlier, when Indian products used to go to the USA, a tariff of around 50 percent was imposed, but now it has been reduced to 18 percent. “On the other hand, the tariff on products India will import has been reduced to zero. This clearly shows that the BJP, which works for big corporate houses and is run by big corporate families, is now trying to sell India’s farmers to capitalists, and is doing it through the USA,” he added.

Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said the BJP is the enemy of farmers and the enemy of common citizens, and that the party is ruling the country with the support of a handful of families and corporate houses, while attempting to sell the nation.

The Punjab Minister further said that the BJP does not understand the value of India’s freedom because it did not exist during the freedom struggle. “Not only the current leaders, but even their older leadership had no role in the struggle to free the country. The people from Punjab and many other states, including Bengalis and citizens across different regions, crushed British rule and drove the British out to secure India’s independence,” he added.

Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said today the BJP is trying to hand the country over to the USA. Issuing a direct political challenge, he said that any BJP leader, whether from the Punjab unit or the national unit, can come forward for a debate on this issue. “The AAP will expose exactly how the BJP has sold Punjab’s and India’s farmers,” he added.

Minister Harpal Singh Cheema also issued a strong warning to the BJP, saying that the people of Punjab will not tolerate any attack on the dignity and future of the country’s annadata, and that the truth will be taken to every village and every household.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann reaches Jalandhar for second time in a month, holds Lok Milni

Punjab News

Reinforcing his government’s emphasis on direct public engagement, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday reached Jalandhar for the second time in a month and held a Lok Milni at his residence in the city, where thousands of people gathered to meet him. The Chief Minister listened to the grievances of residents from Jalandhar and adjoining areas and, by issuing clear directions to officials on the spot, ensured immediate redressal of their concerns.

Describing the initiative as the most effective mechanism to address people’s complaints at a single platform, the Chief Minister asserted Punjab is the only state where the head of the state personally conducts such a comprehensive exercise to safeguard public welfare. Emphasising that the AAP government is committed to resolving every problem of the people with complete honesty and accountability, he asserted that the Lok Milni programme will continue in the future as a structured bridge between the government and the masses, further strengthening responsive and transparent governance.

During this, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “Lok Milnis are the best way to redress the people’s grievances at a single platform and to take feedback of the masses for further enhancing good governance. There is hardly any match of the citizen centric Lok Milni across the country. There is no other state which indulges in such a pro-people initiative for the welfare of the general public. It is on record that the Lok Milni program has been very fruitful in redressing the grievances of every strata of society. Lok Milnis are indeed a unique phenomenon where the entire government meets the people for solving their problems in a planned manner.”

Describing the initiative as a matter of pride for Punjab, the Chief Minister said, “It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that Punjab is the only state where the head of the state conducts a comprehensive exercise for ensuring the welfare of the public. Lok Milni guarantees holistic development of the state and welfare of people on one hand and enables the government to judge the performance of its officers on the other. This is the first of its kind program in the entire country as no other Chief Minister of any state bothers to take so much pain for the people.”

Emphasising that the initiative rises above partisan considerations, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Lok Milnis are not associated with politics. The sole aim of the state government is to usher in development and prosperity. Lok Milni is the best way to redress the people’s grievances at a single platform besides ensuring unbridled development in a democratic set up, thereby bridging the communication gap between government and the masses. The state government is working tirelessly for the well being of the people for which several key initiatives have already been taken in the state.”

Highlighting the government’s focus on youth empowerment, he said, “The work of any government is to provide wings to the children so that they can script a new success story in life. Every file signed by me is aimed at the benefit of the common man and the state. More than 63,000 jobs have been provided to youth without corruption or recommendation. Every decision of the state government is aimed at the progress of the state and prosperity of its people.”

On education reforms, the Chief Minister stated, “In the Education sector, Schools of Eminence have been set up across the state to impart quality education to the students. These schools have been equipped with smart classrooms, fully equipped labs and playgrounds for scientific learning. To upscale the expertise of the teachers, a special program has been embarked under which teachers and Principals are being sent abroad for training to make sure that they are well versed with modern teaching practices to prepare the students for future competitions in the international arena. It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that Punjab has ranked first in the National Achievement Survey conducted by the Government of India, surpassing even Kerala.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann further said, “Students are being offered specialized coaching for competitive examinations such as Armed Forces Preparation, NEET, JEE, CLAT, and NIFT. It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that students from Schools of Eminence and other government schools have qualified for JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, and NEET exams. In another significant step, the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna has been launched for cashless treatment upto Rs 10 lakh for all 65 lakh families in the state.”

Detailing healthcare initiatives, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Income conditions have been removed under this scheme and now even government employees and pensioners have been included under it. Punjab has become the first state to provide free healthcare to all citizens. 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics are providing free treatment daily. Since the state government has assumed charge in 2022, around 90% households of the state are receiving free electricity.”

Referring to support for farmers and infrastructure, he said, “For the first time in the history of the state more than eight hours of uninterrupted power has been supplied to farm tube wells during paddy season, that too in the daytime. 6900 km long, 18349 water courses have been revived in the state to provide water at tail ends. Several public libraries have been opened in the state to ensure that the students can study and excel in life.”

The Chief Minister added, “Today Punjab is making rapid strides in every field as the state government has taken every step for comprehensive development of Punjab. The state government has taken path breaking initiatives in health, education, power and other sectors. The work on construction of more than 49,000 km of rural roads is going on in full swing and will be accomplished soon.”

Citing relief measures for the public, he said, “The state government has closed 19 toll plazas in Punjab which is saving ₹64 lakh daily from common man’s pocket in toll fees. To provide accessible healthcare, 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been opened across the state offering free treatment and medicines. The state government has hitherto fulfilled every promise made to the people of state.”

Concluding, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Now the state government will start the scheme to give ₹1000 to every woman for which necessary provision will be kept in the coming budget. Every promise made to the people of the state will be fulfilled by all means as this government is committed for the welfare of all. The sole agenda of the state government is to ensure the progress of the state and the prosperity of its people.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann’s message: Continue strict enforcement to uphold rule of law in Punjab

CM Bhagwant Mann

Reasserting an uncompromising stand against drugs and organised crime, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday directed the entire senior police leadership to escalate enforcement and ensure that the rule of law prevails without exception across the state.

Chairing a high-level review meeting with Commissioners of Police, Inspector Generals (IG), Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) who joined the meeting virtually, the Chief Minister underscored that ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ and ‘Gangsteraan Te Vaar’ remain the Punjab Government’s foremost priorities and must culminate in the complete eradication of the drug menace and gangster networks from their very roots.

Calling for sharper coordination, stricter accountability and visible outcomes on the ground, the Chief Minister reiterated that the AAP Government is firmly committed to safeguarding the safety and security of ordinary citizens. He emphasised that while enforcement would remain relentless, long-term protection of Punjab’s youth also hinges on expanding employment opportunities, strengthening education and institutionalising career counselling so that young people are shielded from falling prey to drugs and crime.

Addressing the officers, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Punjab Police has a glorious legacy of combating such challenges and the need of the hour is to uphold this heritage by eliminating the drug menace and gangsters from the state, for which you all have to play a major role.”

Highlighting the progress achieved so far, the Chief Minister stated that with fulsome support and cooperation of the people, the two flagship drives of the state government, ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ and ‘Gangsteraan te Vaar’, have been successfully launched. He stated, “The results of both these drives aimed at making the state free from the curse of drugs and gangsters have been encouraging.”

He added, “Now the need of the hour is to give a final blow to both these maladies, for which every officer needs to play a proactive role.”

Emphasising strict monitoring, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “I will be personally monitoring the progress of these campaigns on a daily basis to ensure that the state is free from drug menace and gangsters.” He further said, “The work of every officer and official is under scrutiny and they will be duly rewarded for their good work and will be held accountable for any sort of lapse.” While patting the Punjab Police for remarkable work under both these campaigns, he added, “A lot more needs to be done, for which every one of you should work hard.”

Assuring whole-hearted support from the state government, the Chief Minister said, “There is no dearth of funds to equip the Punjab Police with the latest technology.” He also noted that the human resource, vehicle fleet and other infrastructure are being upgraded as per the needs of the department. Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The motive is very clear to ensure that Punjab Police is readily equipped to face any sort of challenge.”

Speaking on the law and order situation, the Chief Minister said, “With the concerted efforts of the state government, the law and order situation in Punjab is much better than the rest of the country.”

He added, “As compared to earlier regimes, there is a paradigm shift in the state as the Police force is no longer being used to register false cases.” Bhagwant Singh Mann further said, “It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that no patronization of the criminals is being done by the state government.”

The Chief Minister also asked the Civil and Police administration to start a massive drive to review arm licenses across the state to avert misuse. He said, “If any arm license is used for some crime, then the district authorities must immediately cancel that license.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann categorically added, “Any sort of laxity in this cause is totally unwarranted and undesirable. This drive should be planned meticulously and executed flawlessly.”

Stressing the need to keep youth engaged in constructive activities, the Chief Minister said, “As an idle mind is the devil’s workshop, the state government is trying to provide maximum employment to the youth so they remain away from social evils.”

Batting for checking the school dropout rate, especially in drug hotspot areas and among vulnerable groups, he said, “The Education department should be roped in to take remedial measures and check it.” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann also said, “A massive career counselling programme should be started in these vulnerable areas and hotspots.”

On the occasion, Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, DGP Gaurav Yadav and other senior officers were also present.

AAP MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj’s Explosive Revelation: BJP tried to lure me with ticket, closed-door meeting & fulfilment of any demand under ‘Operation Lotus’

Punjab News

Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Sangrur Narinder Kaur Bharaj addressed a press conference at the party office along with AAP Punjab State Media Incharge Baltej Pannu and spoke about an alleged attempt by the BJP under its so-called ‘Operation Lotus’ to approach her with inducements.

AAP MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said, “The BJP is running ‘Operation Lotus’ across the country to topple elected governments. A few days ago, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini tried to contact me. He tempted me with a BJP ticket from Sangrur and said that whatever demand I had would be fulfilled. He also offered a closed-door meeting.”

The AAP MLA further said, “I joined the party in 2014 at the age of 19, inspired by the policies of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Singh Mann. I am that worker who has put up posters for the party. Only the Aam Aadmi Party can give a small farmer’s daughter the honour of becoming an MLA at the age of 27.”

Taking on the Haryana Chief Minister, Narinder Kaur Bharaj said, “The way Saini Sahib has been roaming the streets of Punjab these days, it seems the BJP has sent him to Punjab on deputation. My advice to him is to stop worrying about me or Punjab and take care of Haryana. The people of Punjab and AAP MLAs stand like a rock with Bhagwant Singh Mann Sahib and Arvind Kejriwal ji.”

She made it clear that the party remains united. “Every worker, MLA and minister of the Aam Aadmi Party is united. We have entered politics to change the system and to provide health and education facilities, not to indulge in horse-trading. We are fully prepared for the 2027 elections, and such cheap tactics of the BJP cannot shake us.”

Meanwhile, AAP Punjab State Media Incharge Baltej Pannu also addressed the media and stated, “The BJP is once again unsuccessfully trying to crush democracy in Punjab through ‘Operation Lotus’. This is not the first time the BJP has tried to buy AAP MLAs, but they forget that Punjabis are known for their honour.”

He added, “Saini Sahib should keep his ‘Haryana Model’ where people are suffering under expensive electricity. Punjab follows the model of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Singh Mann, where facilities like free electricity and SSF exist, which are nowhere to be seen in your failed Haryana Model.”

Baltej Pannu further said, “Four years of the Punjab government are about to be completed, yet BJP’s glamour and offers worth crores of rupees could not sway even a single MLA. AAP MLAs are sons and daughters of ordinary households, whom traditional parties used to mock by calling them ‘material’ or ‘band-baaja walas’. We warn the BJP to put this ‘For Sale’ sign in some other state, because neither any MLA nor any worker in Punjab is for sale.”

Baltej Pannu concluded by saying, “The post of Chief Minister carries a certain dignity, which must be understood and upheld. Instead of hatching conspiracies to break other parties, Saini Sahib should learn from the AAP model how to serve people honestly. Let it be clear that no matter how much the BJP increases its activities in Punjab, it should remove this illusion that any MLA will be intimidated or broken. What could not happen in Delhi will never happen on the soil of Punjab.”
