Rane suggested that Muslims are free to offer namaz in thousands of mosques in the country and those contravening the basic worship rules would not be spared.

Electricity concern has been one of the largest problems of the city’s wards. Led by Lukman Kamal, the President of the Malegaon Lok Sangharsh Samiti, and many residents staged a protest at the electricity department office. The protestors offered Ramadan’s namaz inside the office as it was the scheduled tiem for Asr prayers.

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya remarked that some government employees performed namaz during office hours at the Malegaon Municipal Corporation office. Somaiya added that they went on to upload a video of it on social media.

Also referred to as the afternoon prayer, the Asr prayer is the 3rd of the 5 obligatory daily prayers for members of the Muslim community. During the prayer, Muslims reaffirm their faith in Islam and Prophet Mohammad.

Cervical Cancer: The Indian Government has announced all girls above the age of 14 would receive a free dosage of Gardasil, a quadrivalent Human papillomavirus (HPV) single-shot vaccine, to stay protected against HPV types 16 and 18 that can result in cervical cancer, as well as type 6 and 11.

The vaccination program from February 28, 2026 would be voluntary and free so that every girl in the country could access equitable access of the HPV vaccine.

The Indian Government has announced this decision in conformity with the WHO’s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization.

Girls aged 14 years and above would receive the vaccine at the designated vaccination centres during the campaign’s first 90 days. After this period, girls aged 14 years and above would be able to book a vaccination slot of their choice using the U-win portal and get themselves vaccinated at their nearest health & wellness centre.

Health officials remarked that 1.15 crore girls in the country who turn 14 would be eligible for the Human papillomavirus (HPV) single-shot vaccine.

GAVI vaccine alliance would offer 2.6 crore doses to India, out of which 1 crore have already reached the country. The remaining would arrive through this year and next.

Studies in England and Sweden have demonstrated that early vaccination in teenage years could help significantly reduce the risk of cervical cancer in girls by over 85 percent at age 30.

What Is Cervical Cancer?

Cervical Cancer happens when the cervix cells start to alter to precancerous cells. This health condition is usually not characterized by symptoms until it starts spreading quickly. Therefore, HPV vaccination and a Pap smear (a form of regular cervical cancer screening) are recommended.

In another development, Prashant Bhushan has raised serious concerns over the proposed use of Gardasil.

In rare cases, the use of Gardasil is associated with fainting in approximately 15 percent of teen girls post-vaccination, which is primarily from needle anxiety. Allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis or hives may strike 1 in 1 million doses, which is treatable with epinephrine.

The Bhagwant Mann said it has intensified its anti-drug campaign, reporting multiple raids across Punjab as part of Day 360 of its ongoing “Yudh Nashian Virudh” initiative. Officials confirmed the arrest of 83 alleged drug smugglers during the latest enforcement operations.

Police said the campaign has resulted in the arrest of 51,086 alleged drug traffickers over the past 360 days. Authorities described the drive as a sustained enforcement effort aimed at dismantling drug supply networks and curbing illegal trafficking activities.
Alongside enforcement measures, officials reported that 25 individuals were persuaded to enroll in de-addiction and rehabilitation programs. Police emphasized that the initiative combines strict law-enforcement action with rehabilitation support to address both supply and demand aspects of drug abuse.

Officials said operations were carried out with the support of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force Punjab, which has been tasked with identifying supply chains, monitoring trafficking patterns and coordinating intelligence inputs. The unit works alongside district police teams to ensure swift action against suspected smugglers and distributors.


Authorities noted that the operations involve coordination between specialized anti-narcotics units, district police teams and intelligence branches. The goal, they said, is to track trafficking routes, identify organized networks and strengthen preventive policing.


Law-enforcement officials reiterated that tackling drug trafficking remains a priority because of its links to organized crime, health risks and social challenges. They urged citizens to cooperate with authorities by reporting suspicious activities and supporting awareness campaigns.

The favourites to retain the ICC T20 World Cup title are now left struggling to win both their matches with big victory margins.

The former Indian batsman also questioned the tactic of Gambhir to promote Washington Sundar to number 5 after Team India suffered a top-order collapse.

Manjrekar said Washington Sundar is like the trump card of Gambhir. He suggests Washington comes into the picture if there is a batting issue and he also comes in the picture when Team India has a bowling problem. Manjrekar said Washington surprisingly was promoted ahead of star batsmen Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh that was just too much.

Manjrekar also pointed out that Team India is presently facing a technical concern. He commented that batsman should emphasize on playing the slower balls and added that the team, especially Captain Suryakumar Yadav, is struggling against slower deliveries.

Udham Singh Nagar Video: A video from Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand’s Rudrapur is doing the rounds on social media platforms. In the video, a man could be seen abusing and assaulting an elderly Muslim man offering namaz during the month of Ramadan.

Udham Singh Nagar Video-Turn Of Events

An elderly Muslim man was offering namaz on vacant land in front of Jagatpura’s Atriya Temple. Shahid, the muslim man is a mason by profession and a resident of the Resham Bari area.

Shahid remarked he was working nearby for many days and came to the vacant plot just to offer prayers during the Ramadan period. He went on to claim that the temple’s complex area is too far from where he was offering namaz.

Several members of the Muslim community joined Shahid and filed a complaint against the accused, upon learning of the abusive and thrashing incident. It was alleged by the protestors that the accused is presently on a parole and is a murder convict. It was also alleged that the video was intentionally made viral.

Uttarakhand Police Appealed For Peace

Police arrived at the scene and urged both communities to maintain peace, harmony and brotherhood. Presently, Shahid is undergoing a round of medical examination while police is contemplating legal action based on Shahid’s complaint. Temple manager Arvind Sharma has remarked that any other religious activity on the grounds of the temple would not be tolerated for any reason whatsoever.

Municipal Councillor Parvez Qureshi remarked that assaulting anyone is unacceptable and the accused must have informed the administration if he or anyone else had any objection. Qureshi demanded a full, fair and transparent investigation and stringent action against the culprits so these types of incidents don’t happen again.

Dhurandhar 2 has triggered a fresh industry debate even before its release. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has once again voiced strong views about Dhurandhar The Revenge, the sequel to the 2025 hit Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh. The film is set to arrive in cinemas on March 19 and will face a major box office clash with Yash’s Toxic.

Varma, who publicly praised the first instalment, now believes the sequel could shake the foundations of mainstream commercial filmmaking, especially the established Pan-India South blockbuster formula.

According to the director, Dhurandhar The Revenge represents more than just a continuation of a successful franchise. He believes the film could set a new standard with realistic storytelling, deeper emotions and a more natural, grounded style.

RGV Predicts Dhurandhar 2 Will Completely Disrupt Pan-India Films

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Varma posted a detailed and provocative note that quickly grabbed attention across film circles. He wrote, “Once audiences taste this new standard, every film currently under production in the previous masala style can become instantly endangered. Those ultra-big budgeted masala projects that are already deep into shooting or post-production will have an uphill task in competing with the new standards set.”

The filmmaker suggested that audience preferences may be shifting faster than producers realise. He warned that projects relying heavily on spectacle-driven formulas could face serious risks.

Varma further stated that filmmakers who continue to believe in scale and visual effects as guaranteed crowd-pullers may need to rethink their strategies. He said directors devoted to the idea that ‘mass + VFX + scale + gravity-defying stunts = guaranteed hit’ might have no option but to reinvent themselves.

He also cautioned producers about financial consequences. In his view, betting entire production houses on familiar formulas could lead to heavy losses if audience tastes move toward realism and deeper narratives.

Calling the sequel an ‘asteroid strike’, Varma wrote that the film might end what he described as the ‘dinosaur era’ of filmmaking. He added that the “goalpost has changed,” warning that failure to adapt could result in severe creative and commercial setbacks.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) is scheduled for a pan-India theatrical release on March 19, 2026. The timing aligns with festive periods including Gudi Padwa and Eid-al-Fitr, traditionally seen as favourable windows for big releases.
