Bubonic plague: China reports new case.

A herdsman of inner Magnolia in the Chinese region found infected with Bubonic plague, health officials said.

The patient was suspected with infection on Saturday and was confirmed with the lymph node Bubonic plague the following day. He is currently in the local hospital and is in a stable condition.

Bubonic plague is a rare but serious bacterial infection that is transmitted by fleas. It is caused by the bacterial Yersinia pestis. Y. pestis spreads via infected fleas or animals, like rodents, squirrels, or hares, which can be passed into humans who are bit or scratched.

The plague diagnosis comes about a week after the Chinese government announced two other people had contracted pneumonic plague in Beijing

People may experience:

Pain areas: in the abdomen or muscles
Cough: can be with blood
Whole body: fever, chills, fatigue, or malaise
Gastrointestinal: diarrhoea, nausea, or vomiting
Also common: bleeding, delirium, headache, phlegm, shortness of breath, or swollen and tender lymph node.

These antibiotics are used to cure Bubonic plague:

Ciprofloxacin (Cipro)
Doxycycline (Vibramycin)
Gentamicin (Garamycin)
Levofloxacin (Levaquin)

The health committee of the city of Bayan Nur issued the third-level alert, the second lowest in a four-level system.

Chinese authorities are urging people to take extra precautions to keep down the risk of human-to-human transmission and to avoid hunting or eating animals that could cause infection. Bayannur authorities also warned the public to report findings of dead or sick Marmots

Cases in China are rare but not uncommon. From 2009 to 2018, 26 cases were reported and 11 people died.
Madagascar saw more than 300 cases during an outbreak in 2017. However, a study in medical journal The Lancet found less than 30 people died.

According to the World Health Organization, the plague is found in all continents except Oceania,

Without treatment, the plague can result in the death of 30% to 60% of the infected people.

The plague was the cause of the Black Death that swept through Asia, Europe and Africa in 14th century and killed about 50 million people. It is considered as the most destructive epidemic of human history.

UGC advises to conduct last semester exam till Sept end’s.

The UGC ( University Grant’s Commission ) advises Universities and colleges to finish last semester examination by September ends.
The UGC will not recommend cancellation of the final semester examination.

On 29 April UGC had released an Indicative academic calendar for Universities. They had prescribed higher education institution to conduct final year or last semester exam from July 1 to 15 . And also asked them to declare the result till month ends.

But later on June 24 the government had asked the UGC to reconsider their calendar in view of Covid-19 pandemic and lock down.

”For students who cannot appear for the final semester or final year exam, the universities will hold a special exam after September. And those who could not pass the exam will also be allowed to improve,” said an Officer.

Now UGC had revised the guidelines. And advised the institutions to conduct pending final year exam .

Meanwhile at least seven states had already cancelled their examination without bothering to wait for UGC fresh guideline’s. Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal are seven states who have cancelled their University examination.

Thus, the guideline of UGC will affect the examination throughout the nation.
However it is unclear whether the states will revisit their declaration about cancelling exam or not.

Students are very upset by this decision, #UGC is trending on twitter . They want the government to pass them on marking based on previous semester result. Here is some tweets of students;

Improvement in passenger vehicle sales in June 2020.

After tired and pale April and  a reaped May, June 2020 saw car companies and their dealers functions, in different states of inclination, for the entire month.

The past month proved to be a quite cheerful for tractor makers and for two wheeler. While passenger vehicle sale are slowly picking up, commercial vehicle are a hard play.

Credit rating agency ICRA  in April said that with unit sales likely to decline between 11-13 percent at around 18 million units in FY2021, the two-wheeler industry (2W) is about to witness another year of demand contraction. The fall is expected following the adverse impact of the Covid-19 outbreak on economic growth and discretionary spending.

Toyota car sales in May 2020 registered 1639 units in the Indian market. The low sales were mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, which resulted in low customer sentiments to purchase new vehicles.

While, Maruti Suzuki posted total sales of 57,428 units in June 2020 (including 52,300 units in the domestic market and 839 units to another OEM). In addition, the Company exported 4,289 units in June 2020.

The sale figure for June 2020.

Ashish Harsharaj Kale, FADA president, said the numbers in May were not indicative of the demand situation as the lockdown still continued in many parts.
