India criticizes China for trying to stall expansion in UN

India, addressing the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, said that today the United Nations Security Council has become a bad organ . This is because she is unable to take credible decisions in the absence of her ability to delegate. India also questioned the role of IGN, a group formed for mutual dialogue in governments during this period.

Speaking at the General Assembly, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, TS Tirumurthy, also said that IGN has become a platform for debate in empty universities and here UN member countries In the midst of this, the efforts made for the results are negligible.
Tirumurthy said in his address that ‘nothing has happened other than listening to fiery speeches on improvement in IGN for the last decade. Actually, it has happened because it is not just informal, it does not have any rules of action or any records etc. A similar situation has persisted for a decade.

He said that ‘we are forced to keep our own notes, which puts a huge burden on small and medium countries. Countries that shed crocodile tears for these countries do not even give them the right to common courtesy, under which they can be helped to keep an official record of their own debates. No record of what happens here is kept and next year we start again as if nothing has happened. And obviously we have nothing on negotiation. IGN has become a platform for debate in empty universities and here there is no negotiation or work between UN member countries.

Barack Obama shares his playlist from presidency days

Former US President Barack Obama has shared a list of songs that he enjoyed listening to during his presidency. On Monday, Obama shared a playlist including tracks by artistes like Beyonce, Eminem, Frank Sintara, The Beatles and Jay-Z among others.

The list covers genres ranging from country to rap which include music from well before 2009-2017.

Sharing the playlist on Instagram, Barack Obama wrote, “Music has always played an important role throughout my life—and that was especially true during my presidency. While reviewing my notes ahead of debates, I’d listen to Jay-Z’s “My 1st Song” or Frank Sinatra’s “Luck Be a Lady.” Throughout our time in the White House, Michelle and I invited artists like Stevie Wonder and Gloria Estefan to conduct afternoon workshops with young people before performing an evening show in the East Room.

“And there were all sorts of performances I’ll always remember—like Beyoncé performing “At Last” for our first dance at our inauguration, Paul McCartney serenading Michelle in the East Room with, “Michelle” and Bob Dylan flashing me a grin before vanishing after his performance of “Times They Are a-Changin.” So in honor of my book coming out tomorrow, I thought I’d put together a playlist with some of those songs. Hope you enjoy it. #APromisedLand” he added.

Obama holds great interest in music. Time and again, he shares his musical favourites. Earlier, he had shared a summer playlist which included tracks of Billie Eilish and Bob Marley among others.

The former president shared the list ahead of his presidential memoirs – A Promised Land, which will be published November 17 by Crown Publishing Group.

After Corona new virus called Chapare virus is seen communicable

The world is still troubled by the new Corona virus Covid-19, which came out last year, at the same time another new virus has emerged. Evidence of its infection from human to human has also been found. The Centers for Disease Control of America has confirmed this. There have been reported cases of infection in Bolivia. This results in fever, which is likely to cause brain haemorrhage. It is much like Ebola, which was considered dangerous, although it was soon overcome.

According to scientists, the name of this virus is – Chapre Virus. Actually, the origin of this virus was seen in the Chapare area of Bolivia in the year 2004. According to a report by Live Science, the CDC said that in 2019, three out of five people who were affected by this infection were health workers, out of which two died.

According to the report, Colin Carlson, a researcher at Georgetown University, said that a hemorrhagic fever like Ebola spreads very hard like a corona or flu. This is because symptoms of hemorrhagic fever usually appear immediately after infection and the infection is spread from one person to another by direct contact with the infected. But if it takes the form of an epidemic, it can devastate the medical system. Many health workers get sick while treating patients.

Most patients get treatment with intravenous fluids due to lack of specific treatment for the infection. On Monday, the research of the arc virus has been presented in the annual meeting of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

FDA approves self testing kit for covid-19 diagnosis at home

The US Food and Drug Administration(FDA) on Tuesday allowed an emergency authorization of the first covid-19 self-testing kit which can provide rapid results within 30 minutes.

In a statement on Tuesday, director of the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health said that the latest development has been made with the view of “a significant step toward FDA’S nationwide response to covid-19”.

The move will enhance the number of testing in a lesser amount of time amid the surge in coronavirus cases in the United States.

The new test uses self-collected nasal swab samples which is authorized for people aged 14 or above, while for people below 13 will need assistance from health care provider.

DA Commissioner Stephen Hahn outlined in a statement that while COVID-19 diagnostic tests have been authorized for at-home collection, fully self-administered and provide results at home is a first in the country.

“This new testing option is an important diagnostic advancement to address the pandemic and reduce the public burden of disease transmission,” he said.

“The test works by swirling the self-collected sample swab in a vial that is then placed in the test unit,” the FDA said in a statement

“In 30 minutes or less, the results can be read directly from the test unit’s light-up display that shows whether a person is positive or negative for the SARS-CoV-2,” the virus that causes COVID-19, the FDA added.

It is noteworthy that rapid tests have low accuracy rate in general. Meanwhile, the FDA has not addressed the issue, however, in a letter to Lucira Health, it did mention that “it is reasonable to believe that you product may be effective in diagnosing covid-19.

Tom Bollyky, the director of the global health program, in a conversation with CNN expressed hope in the new method while outlining that it requires people be to cautious.

He said that expanded testing, rapid testing can help in bringing us back to a life that appeals more normalcy. “If we’re able to identify at least on, perhaps even a daily basis, what our current viral load as and it helps us make ourselves safer and other,” he added.

Twitter introduces new feature called “fleets”, here’s everything you need to know about it

Twitter has introduced a new feature called “Fleets” which will appear at the top of your Twitter account, right below the icon. The new feature will facilitate people to share their personal thoughts for a short period of time which they don’t want on their profiles in the longer run.

The fleet-like feature is not new to the world of social media. On Facebook and Instagram, the feature has been widely used as ‘Story’ which also appears on the top of the profile and disappears after a period of 24-hour.

The feature was tested in India, Italy, South Korea and Brazil on Tuesday, and was rolled out gloablly on Wednesday.

The design director of the micro-blogging in a press conference said the feature is introduced to make people more comfortable and active on the platform.

“We’ve seen Fleets helped people feel more comfortable sharing personal and casual thoughts, opinions, and feelings,” Joshua Harris, Twitter’s Director of Design said during a press conference. He is also talking about unveiling a new feature called Audio Spaces, which will help users in hosting discussions on the platform. The feature will be tested first and then released.

“A lot of people don’t tweet. With retweets and replies, it feels like a burden to tweet. People lurk draft tweets and then do not send them. Fleets create a lower pressure way to join the conversation. It’ll make people more comfortable to join the conversation, because it’s just for a day, and it won’t be around forever. We’ve also seen more people joining conversations on Twitter, and we’ve seen that people new to Twitter are more comfortable,” Harris said during the press conference.

Fleets can not be shared further with users once disappeared. However, if you want to save them, you can always take screenshots. As the feature has been rolled out to share personal thoughts, they cannot be shared, liked or being commented at. People can respond to them, but the replies will only be visible to original tweeter as direct messages.

Talking about Fleets, Sam Haveson, product manager, in a blog post said that fleets are a “lower pressure” way to communicate “fleeting thoughts” unlike the permanent tweets which are available for public response.
