Bhagwant Mann continued its statewide anti-gangster operation under the ongoing “Gangstran Te Vaar” campaign, carrying out coordinated raids and enforcement activities across multiple districts in Punjab.
According to official information released by the police department, the latest operation was conducted in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) through targeted raids at identified locations linked to suspected criminal networks.
Bhagwant Mann: Hundreds Detained During Statewide Raids
Police officials stated that 519 raids were conducted during Day 118 of the campaign. During the operation, 271 individuals were detained for questioning and verification, while five proclaimed offenders were apprehended. Authorities also reported the recovery of three weapons during the raids.
With the latest action, the total number of arrests made under the anti-gangster campaign has reportedly reached 30,250 since the initiative was launched.
Crackdown Focused on Organized Crime
Punjab Police said the operation is aimed at dismantling organized criminal networks involved in activities such as extortion, illegal arms possession, gang violence, and other serious offences. Officials stated that intelligence-led operations and continuous monitoring are being used to strengthen law enforcement efforts across the state.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has repeatedly emphasized strict action against gangsters and criminal elements as part of the government’s law and order strategy.
Public Cooperation Encouraged
The police department also appealed to citizens to share information related to criminal activities through the anti-gangster helpline. Authorities stated that cooperation from the public remains important in maintaining security and supporting efforts to create a safer environment in Punjab.
The “Gangstran Te Vaar” campaign has become one of the state’s major policing initiatives aimed at curbing organized crime and strengthening public safety through continuous enforcement operations.
