The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved a proposal related to the expansion of healthcare and diagnostic facilities at the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital campus in Prayagraj.
According to the state government, a total of 31,314 square metres of land located within the hospital premises will be transferred to the Medical Education Department on a lease basis for 90 years at a symbolic annual rent of ₹1.

Officials stated that the land transfer has been approved to facilitate the development of improved medical and diagnostic services linked to the government medical college in Prayagraj. The decision is part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s broader efforts to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure and expand access to advanced treatment facilities.
The Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital is associated with the state-run medical education system and serves a large number of patients from Prayagraj and surrounding regions.
Expansion of Medical Services Planned
Authorities said that the approved proposal is expected to support future healthcare projects, including better hospital infrastructure, modern medical services, and enhanced patient care facilities. The state government has been focusing on increasing medical capacity through new hospitals, medical colleges, and healthcare institutions across Uttar Pradesh.
Officials also noted that expanding healthcare infrastructure remains an important component of the government’s development agenda aimed at improving medical access for citizens.
