Bhagwant Mann Government Sends Pilgrims on Religious Tour Under Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme

Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh flagged off a bus carrying pilgrims from Ward No. 4 of Patiala Rural under the Bhagwant Mann Teerth Yatra Scheme, an initiative launched by the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

The pilgrims will visit prominent religious destinations, including Sri Harmandir Sahib, popularly known as the Golden Temple, and Durgiana Temple, along with other religious sites.

Bhagwant Mann: Scheme Aims to Facilitate Religious Travel

The Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme was introduced to provide citizens, particularly senior citizens and devotees, an opportunity to undertake pilgrimages to important religious destinations with government support.

Officials said the programme is intended to make religious travel more accessible and allow people to visit places of spiritual significance without facing major financial constraints.

Positive Response from Residents

According to Balbir Singh, the scheme has received encouraging support from local residents, who have welcomed the initiative and appreciated the government’s efforts to facilitate religious journeys.

The minister stated that such programmes help people fulfill long-held aspirations of visiting important places of worship while promoting social welfare and community participation.

Government Highlights Welfare Initiatives

The Punjab government has described the Teerth Yatra Scheme as part of its broader welfare agenda aimed at benefiting different sections of society through public-service programmes and citizen-focused initiatives.

Officials maintain that the scheme will continue to provide opportunities for more residents across Punjab to undertake pilgrimages to significant religious destinations in the coming months.
