On Gandhi Jayanti, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of Khadi, Swadeshi, and cleanliness in nation-building. Speaking in Gorakhpur, he announced a 25% discount on Khadi products across the state, urging people to adopt Swadeshi goods in daily life. “We should purchase every Swadeshi product, including Khadi, and gift it to our friends and family during festivals. This will not only strengthen Indian artisans but also promote employment within the country,” he said.

Yogi Adityanath also stressed the role of cleanliness as a national identity, calling it one of Mahatma Gandhi’s greatest legacies. Referring to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said it has become a brand of India and a reflection of Gandhi’s vision. He urged citizens to actively participate in cleanliness drives, linking them to health, dignity, and development.
He concluded his address by offering a humble tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh, affirming that the double-engine government is committed to realising the Father of the Nation’s dreams of self-reliance, prosperity, and social harmony
