CNG Price Hike: The latest increase in the price of CNG across Delhi-NCR will raise the operational costs for drivers who travel a considerable distance every day. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the CNG price by ₹3.89 per kg, and the new rates will be applicable from 6 am on August 29, 2026.

How much has CNG become costlier across NCR?
The new CNG rates will vary from city to city. Delhi‘s new CNG rate is ₹86.98 per kg, and the new CNG rate for Noida and Ghaziabad is ₹95.59 per kg. The new rate for Gurugram is ₹92.01 per kg, while Meerut’s is ₹95.47 per kg. For drivers who travel hundreds of kilometers every week, the increase can be noticeable.
Why has the CNG price increased?
According to IGL, the recent increase in CNG price is due to rising LNG prices in international markets. The company claims that a major portion of gas used for the production of CNG comes from LNG imports; hence, local prices of CNG are influenced by movements in international market prices. IGL further mentions increasing dependence on imported spot LNG to meet demand.

High-mileage drivers will feel the ₹3.89/kg CNG hike more. A car using 10 kg daily could cost ₹38.90 extra per day, or around ₹1,011 more over 26 working days.
