The monsoon continues to affect many parts of northern India. Uttarakhand is facing landslides and road closures, Jammu & Kashmir is dealing with damage caused by overnight flash floods, and Delhi-NCR is likely to receive another spell of rain.
Uttarakhand Faces Fresh Monsoon Problems
Uttarakhand is among the worst-hit states due to continuous rainfall. Heavy rain has caused landslides, swollen rivers, and blocked roads in many districts. According to officials, 69 roads are still closed because of rain-related damage. In Dehradun, a woman was injured after a retaining wall collapsed.

Damages in Kashmir Due to Flash Floods
In the Anantnag region of Jammu & Kashmir, flash floods have resulted in damage following rains in the region that raised the level of the Awoora stream. The damages include damaged homes, orchards, hotels, and cars along with the destruction of certain portions of the road between Awoora and Pahalgam.
Rain Alert Issued in Himachal Pradesh
Moderate to heavy rains along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds have been forecast by IMD in certain regions of Himachal Pradesh. Areas like Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi would receive heavy showers.
What Lies Ahead for Delhi-NCR?
There is likely to be cloud cover, occasional rainfall, and thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR in the coming days due to ongoing monsoon activity over north India. While there will be some respite from the heat wave, people may have to contend with problems like waterlogging, traffic jams and poor visibility.
Forecast by IMD for Other States
Apart from this, the IMD also forecasted continuing rains in parts of West Bengal, including the sub-Himalayan areas, which would see further heavy rainfall. Many other states of north and east India are also likely to witness active monsoon activity in the coming days.
