Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday extended greetings to people on the occasion of World Tribal Day, as the state celebrated the annual Jharkhand Tribal Festival.
In a post on social media, Soren welcomed people to the festival and highlighted Jharkhand’s rich tribal heritage, traditions and cultural identity. He said the state’s indigenous way of life places importance on nature, community and culture.
Soren said the festival is not only a celebration of Jharkhand’s tribal culture and heritage but also a reaffirmation of the community’s commitment to its identity, rights and existence.

The Chief Minister reiterated the importance of protecting water, forests and land, describing the struggle to safeguard these resources and tribal identity as part of Jharkhand’s heritage.
“Abua Dishum, Abua Raj” — meaning our land, our rule — was also invoked as a vision for preserving the state’s identity while moving towards a better future for coming generations.
Soren also paid tribute to the brave martyrs of Jharkhand and extended his greetings with the message of “Jai Jharkhand”.
Social Media Users Raise JharSewa Portal Issue
Meanwhile, some social media users used the occasion to draw attention to a technical issue related to the JharSewa portal. Users alleged that “Mayra-Maira” and “Modak” are currently listed as separate options and urged the authorities to provide a combined option for “Mayra (Maira) Modak.”
The hashtag #FixJharSewaMayraModak was also used by several users while tagging Hemant Soren and other government-related accounts.
The discussion comes as Jharkhand marks World Tribal Day with renewed emphasis on tribal culture, heritage, identity and rights.
