  • Deductions Claimed: Form 16 is a record of all the deductions you have taken advantage of under different sections of the Income Tax Act. These include deductions for medical insurance premiums, house rent allowance (HRA), and other items.

When Do You Receive Form 16?

Form 16 is normally distributed to workers by employers by June 15th of each year, at the latest. This gives you plenty of time to compile all of your paperwork and submit your ITR before the July 31st deadline.
