Thalassemia: In the event that a person with Thalassemia needs to travel to a different city for treatment, Railways offers 75 percent off in the 1A/2A/3A/SL/CC classes. In addition, it offers a 50% discount on 1A and 2A. Railways does not completely exempt people with this illness. It should be noted that the patient’s and their companion’s tickets are eligible for this discount.
Heart surgery: The patient and his companion receive a seventy-five percent discount in the 1A/2A/3A/SL/CC class. There is a fifty percent discount in 1A/2A.
Operation/Kidney Patient (Dialysis): The patient and his companion receive a 75% discount in the 1A/2A/3A/SL/CC classes. In 1A/2A, there is a fifty percent discount.

Which disabled individuals receive what kind of fare discount?
Mentally weak: Individuals with disabilities who travel in 1A/2A/3A/SL/CC classes, along with their companions, are eligible for a 75% ticket fare concession. Tickets in 1A/2A/MST are discounted by fifty percent.
Blind: Such disabled individuals and their companions who travel in 1A/2A/3A/SL/CC classes receive a 75% ticket fare concession. In 1A/2A/MST, tickets are discounted by fifty percent.
Def-mu: There is a fifty percent discount on tickets in 1A/2A/SL/MST/QST. Take note that 3A/CC tickets for trains such as Rajdhani and Shatabdi are discounted by 25%.
Which paperwork is required
Passengers who are sick or disabled must provide a copy of their medical certificate and a copy of their disability certificate with their ticket if a discount on the ticket fare is required.
Where to purchase tickets
You must purchase a ticket at the reservation counter in order to take advantage of this discount. There is no online access to this facility. On the other hand, a disabled person can use his disability certificate to book train tickets online. Nevertheless, this advantage will only be accessible for trips longer than 300 kilometres.
