Jeep Meridian: More than just an SUV! Power packed engine with 9-speed auto transmission available in 4×2 and 4×4 configurations

Jeep Meridian: As the compact SUV area is becoming increasingly congested, the big 7-seater luxury SUV segment has reduced, with the Ford Endeavour exiting and the Fortuner pricing rising north. That left a lot of room for a luxury SUV that is also tough and has a diesel engine. Big SUVs drink diesel, and the Meridian enters a category with few competitors.

Meridian : Configuaration

The Meridian is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations, with a 2.0l diesel engine producing 170bhp/350Nm and a standard 9-speed automatic transmission. The Compass has a gasoline engine, whereas the Meridian does not.

An ideal engine for best ride quality

Experts believe that a larger SUV like the Meridian need a torquey diesel engine, and so this engine is ideal. It demonstrated what the rugged Meridian is capable of, with the ride quality standing out as a particular highlight. It has a robust, safe, and sturdy feel to it, and the diesel has enough power to pull cleanly. It seems fast enough with passengers and luggage, and the engine is quieter than competitors.

The Meridian is built for the role we gave it, which is to devour long miles with no breaks for the driver since it seems smooth. While the transmission takes its own sweet time for shifts- it’s perfectly suited to a relaxing highway-friendly huge SUV, the suspension made the driving much simpler.

Comparision of Meridian with other SUVs

In comparison to the Fortuner/Alturas, the Meridian feels nimbler and less bouncy, as well as more refined. It has the rough appearance of an old-SUV but does not drive like one. Jeep has included an automatic transmission with the 4×2, which makes sense because not everyone wants to drive off-road, and this 4×2 is capable of handling whatever you may face.

Average-fuel-economy

The Meridian got around 10-11kmpl on the drive, and it had plenty of toys to keep us entertained, such as a great audio system, powered seats, dual-zone climate control, and a large panoramic sunroof. Space is also superior to comparable old-school rivals, with comfortable second-row seats and ample legroom. The third row is not ideal for extended excursions, but we used it to fit additional stuff.

Comfort and road grip

It seems luxurious and comfortable, but it’s tough enough to compete with ladder-frame competitors. The pricing also significantly undercuts the Fortuner, but the 4×2 is more beneficial if you do not require 4×4 or frequently go on hill trips. The Meridian is a wonderful deal at this price because it does provide you with talents.
