Life Certificate: A pensioner can use India Post Payments Bank's (IPPB) doorstep service to electronically submit their life certificate. All retirees are eligible to use this paid service, which costs Rs 70. Pensioners do not need to have an IPPB account in order to use this service. This feature is available to pensioners who have pension accounts with any bank. The Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare, Department of Posts, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), and Ministry of Electronics and IT have collaborated to provide this service to all pensioners nationwide (IPPB).
Here is The Process
- You must first download the Postinfo app from the Google Play Store.
- Launch the app, then select Service Request. You will next need to provide your name, address, phone number, and pin code.
- After that, you must choose the life certificate at India Post Payment Bank.
- Your request for a Digital Life Certificate will be sent to the closest post office upon OTP confirmation.
- The digital life certificate will be mailed to you by the postman within 48 hours.
- You must have your PPO and Aadhaar numbers handy when the postman visits your house to provide the digital life certificate.
- Subsequently, the postman will complete the pensioner's form and obtain their fingerprints. The amount you must pay in cash is Rs 70.
- This life certificate will then be delivered to the bank that will pay out your pension. You will receive a notification from Pension Disbursing Bank regarding the submission of your life certificate.
