Namo Bharat Express: Commuters from Ghaziabad to the Jewar Airport in Noida have a happy surprise coming their way. The route for the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail has been finalized.
The train would connect areas such as Greater Noida West, Surajpur and Kasna while reading the distance between Delhi and Gurugram.
In a meeting between officials from the Yamuna Development Authority (YEIDA) and the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), the stations and routes were finalized. The project has now been submitted to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for the final approval.
Namo Bharat Express-Details
The Namo Bharat Express requires an investment of ₹20,360 crore. It would be completed within a timeframe of 5 years.
The train would start from Siddhartha Vihar and reach the Jewar Noida International Airport. There would be a total of 22 stations (11 metro and 11 rapid rail stations) along the entire train route. Interestingly, there would be a 1.1 kilometre underground section within the Jewar airport complex. The project would also include the 14.2-kilometer-long LRT project from Film City to the airport.
Surajpur would be developed as a prominent junction on this route. This would help connect the proposed corridor between Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad. It would also help passengers to directly travel from IGI International Airport to Noida International Airport.
