To ensure top-tier safety at the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, authorities are implementing robust security arrangements within the premises. A second inner perimeter wall, measuring seven feet in height, has been constructed specifically to secure the runway area.
World-Class Security Measures Strengthened at Noida International Airport
This inner wall has been topped with barbed wire and a two-foot-high electric deterrent consisting of 13 exposed wires to prevent unauthorized access. High-resolution AI-powered cameras have been installed every 50 meters along the 4,200-meter runway to ensure full surveillance. Additionally, 360-degree cameras have been positioned every 100 meters to offer complete visual coverage of the premises.
The airport has been equipped with bomb disposal robots
To bolster emergency response capabilities, the airport has been equipped with bomb disposal robots and ballistic-armored marksman SUVs. Officials stated that these arrangements comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the national authority responsible for overseeing airport safety
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), responsible for air operations and airport security across India, is closely coordinating these efforts.
Moreover, the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the deployment of 1,030 CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) personnel to secure the airport. Their presence will ensure 24×7 vigilance and response readiness once the airport becomes operational.
Moreover, automated vehicle scanning systems will be installed at cargo and staff entry points, ensuring that every vehicle entering the premises is checked thoroughly without manual intervention. For the internal security of terminal buildings and passenger movement areas, additional surveillance, metal detectors, smart baggage scanners, and biometric access control systems will be implemented.
All these steps position Noida International Airport among India’s most secure aviation hubs, not only ensuring safety but also offering a seamless and technologically integrated experience for travelers, cargo handlers, and aviation staff alike.
