Lieutenant Vinay Narwal was shot dead in the Pahalgam attack. The martry was on leave when the incident happened and was visiting the state with his wife. The young naval officer died and his wife became a widow after just 6 days of their wedding reception on April 16.
Lieutenant Vinay Narwal’s grandfather Hawa Singh made an emotional appeal to the Indian government to take the strictest action againt terrorists.
Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi also paid his homages and commented then that the Indian Navy stands in solemn solidarity with all others who lost their lives in this heinous act of violence.
Pahalgam Terror Attack Anniversary-Turn Of Events
A group of people were enjoying near the resort town of Pahalgam when a few gunmen came with automatic weapons. The terrorists started firing indiscriminately on the men, especially Hindu men, after asking their religion. The mass-scale firing led to the death of 24 Indians and 1 Nepali (all Hindus) along with 1 local Muslim tour guide.
Who Were The Attackers?
The Resistance Front (TRF), which is affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), an UN-designated terrorist group based in Pakistan, claimed the responsibility initially but later denied after widespread public condemnation.
Later, India went on to gun down all three Pakistani gunmen during an encounter that lasted several hours in a national wildlife park outside Srinagar. It was confirmed by the Indian Home Minister Amit Shah that all those terrorists from Pakistan who gunned down our brothers have been killed by the Indian Army.
