Punjab Marks 4 Years Under Bhagwant Mann with Major Push in Urban Development

A major ₹1,300 crore road infrastructure project covering 2,120 km is expected to be completed by May, aimed at improving connectivity and road quality.

The Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab highlighted key achievements as the state completes four years under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, showcasing significant progress in urban development, infrastructure, and civic services.

Bhagwant Mann: Development Projects Gain Momentum

According to the Local Government Department, multiple development projects are currently underway across the state. A major ₹1,300 crore road infrastructure project covering 2,120 km is expected to be completed by May, aimed at improving connectivity and road quality.

In addition, the government plans to adopt modern technology to fill potholes, ensuring smoother and safer travel for residents.

Extension for Plot Scheme and Increased Revenue

The One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for plots under Improvement Trusts has been extended until April 30, providing relief and flexibility to applicants.

The state has also recorded a significant rise in house tax collection, crossing ₹600 crore this year compared to ₹500 crore last year, indicating improved revenue generation and administrative efficiency.

Boost to Emergency Services

Punjab is set to upgrade its fire brigade infrastructure with an investment of ₹131 crore. As part of this plan, 13 new fire stations will be established across the state to strengthen emergency response systems.

Focus on Sanitation and Water Management

The government has announced large-scale desilting of sewerage systems across Punjab to improve sanitation and prevent urban flooding.

Additionally, 30 new water treatment plants will be developed at a cost of ₹400 crore, ensuring better access to clean and safe drinking water.

Public Health Measures Intensified

To tackle seasonal health concerns, the state is also preparing to launch an anti-dengue campaign within the next 10 days, focusing on prevention and awareness.

The AAP government emphasized that these initiatives reflect its commitment to infrastructure growth, public welfare, and improved quality of life for people across Punjab. The developments are being positioned as key achievements in the government’s four-year tenure.
