Rajasthan Farmers to Get ₹12,000 Annually Under CM Kisan Samman Nidhi

Under the revised scheme, farmers will now receive a total of ₹12,000 annually, combining ₹6,000 from the Central Government’s PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has announced an increase in the annual financial assistance for farmers under the CM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, benefiting around 74 lakh farmers in the state. Under the revised scheme, farmers will now receive a total of ₹12,000 annually, combining ₹6,000 from the Central Government’s PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi and ₹6,000 from the state government, up from the earlier state share of ₹3,000.

Boost for Rural Economy

The enhanced assistance is expected to provide significant financial relief to farmers, enabling them to invest in quality seeds, fertilisers, and modern farming equipment. Officials say the move will strengthen the rural economy and improve the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers, particularly in times of fluctuating crop prices.

Alignment with Other States

With this decision, Rajasthan joins states like Madhya Pradesh in offering farmers ₹12,000 annually under combined central and state schemes. The move reflects the state government’s focus on farmer welfare and ensuring parity in benefits across different regions of the country.

Crop Insurance and Additional Support

Alongside the increased annual grant, compensation under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana is being provided for Rabi crop losses. Farmers have also begun receiving the 20th instalment of ₹2,000 under the PM-Kisan scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer, ensuring timely support during the farming season.

Wider Impact on Rural Development

Agricultural experts believe that the enhanced income support will not only improve farm productivity but also contribute to better education, healthcare, and quality of life in rural households. By ensuring a steady flow of funds, the government aims to reduce farmer indebtedness and dependence on informal credit sources.

Commitment to Farmer Welfare

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government remains committed to empowering farmers and safeguarding their interests through timely policy interventions, financial aid, and access to modern agricultural practices.
